    Abstract: A daylighting slat (40) includes a daylighting plate (40) extending in one direction. The daylighting plate (40) includes: a transparent base material (41) having a curved or angled shape in a cross-section taken perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the daylighting plate (40); a plurality of transparent daylighting sections (42) at least in a first region (41Aa) of a first face (41A) of the base material (41); and gap portions between the daylighting sections (42), wherein each of the daylighting sections (42) has a side face in contact with one of the gap portions, a part of the side face serving as a reflection face where light incident to that daylighting section (42) is reflected.

    Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device in which grayscale inversion when viewing a liquid crystal panel in an oblique direction is suppressed, thereby being excellent in viewing angle characteristics. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel that includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the pair of substrates, and a pair of polarization plates respectively arranged in the liquid crystal layer on a light incident side and a light emission side, an illumination device that is arranged on the light incident side of the liquid crystal panel and emits light toward the liquid crystal panel, and a light diffusion member that is arranged on the light emission side of the liquid crystal panel and causes light emitted from the liquid crystal panel to be diffused in an azimuthal direction viewed from a normal direction of the liquid crystal panel. When the total width of a polar angle when luminance is reduced to ⅓ of the maximum luminance in characteristics of polar angle luminance of the illumination device is referred to as a ⅓-total width, the ⅓-total width of the illumination device is equal to or greater than 60° in the azimuthal direction in which variations in luminance of the illumination device in a polar angle direction are the greatest.

    Abstract: Provided are a light diffusing touch panel of a thin type and a low coat, and a manufacturing method for the same. A light diffusing touch panel 7 includes a base material 39 having light-transmitting properties, a light absorbing layer 40 that is formed on one face side of the base material 39, and a light diffusing portion 41 that is formed on the one face side of the base material 39 in the same manner as the light absorbing layer 40, in which the light diffusing portion 41 has a light emission end face on the base material 39 side, and has a light incidence end face of which an area is greater than the area of the light emission end face on an opposite side to the base material 39 side, a height to the light emission end face from the light incidence end face of the light diffusing portion 41 is greater than a layer thickness of the light absorbing layer 40, and the base material 39 or the light absorbing layer 40 forms any one of a dielectric layer and a pair of conductive films which are arranged so as to overlap the dielectric layer.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel that includes a liquid crystal cell including a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates, and a pair of polarizers arranged on a light incident side and a light emission side of the liquid crystal layer; an illumination device that is arranged on the light incident side of the liquid crystal cell, and emits light toward the liquid crystal cell; and a light control member that is arranged on the light emission side of the liquid crystal panel, and controls an emission direction of light emitted from the liquid crystal panel by anisotropically diffusing the light in an azimuthal direction as viewed from a direction normal to the liquid crystal panel. The light control member is arranged such that an azimuthal direction in which a luminance viewing angle of the liquid crystal panel is relatively narrow and an azimuthal direction in which diffusivity of the light control member is relatively high approximately coincide with each other.

    Abstract: This liquid crystal display device (100) includes: a vertical alignment liquid crystal layer (30); first and second substrates (10, 20); first and second electrodes (11, 21) arranged on the first and second substrates to face the liquid crystal layer; and two photo-alignment films (12, 22). Each pixel region includes first and second liquid crystal domains, of which the reference alignment directions defined by the two photo-alignment films are a first direction and a second direction different from the first direction, respectively. The first electrode has a slit cut region (11R1), through which a slit (11s) has been cut to run substantially parallel to the reference alignment direction, in a part of a region allocated to each of the first and second liquid crystal domains. The width (W) of the slit is set so that when the highest grayscale voltage is applied to the first electrode, an effective applied voltage decreases by at least 0.5 V and the alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules (30a) shifts with respect to the reference alignment direction by less than 45 degrees.
