摘要： A disk module with a disk for recording information and a controller for controlling operation of the disk in a cabinet, is formed by providing a heat radiation member on at least one of two side faces of the cabinet. The disk array apparatus includes a plurality of disk boxes, each of which accommodates a plurality of the disk modules therein and has an inlet surface on one end side and an exhaust surface on the other end side; a rack which can accommodate the disk boxes therein in a stacking manner and of which surfaces facing the inlet surfaces of the boxes are capable of ventilation; and an exhaust fan arranged in the rack. The heat radiation member is provided on at least one of the two side faces of the cabinet for each disk module, which are parallel to the recording surface of the disk.

摘要： A liquid jetting device includes a plurality of liquid passages each having a liquid ejecting element and communicating with an ejection hole, a common liquid chamber communicating with each of the plurality of liquid passages and an air bubble introducer for making a non-disappearable air bubble formed by thermal energy exist in the common liquid chamber before a start of liquid ejection. The liquid is allowed to be ejected in the presence of the air bubble. The non-disappearable air bubble functions as a buffer to absorb pressure during discharge to restrict flow of the ink in the direction opposite to the discharge port.

摘要： An ink container, as well as a method of making the same, which has ink absorbing material for retaining ink, a casing for holding the ink absorbing material, an ink supply port through which ink is withdrawn from the absorbing material, and an air vent. The air vent and ink supply port are each provided adjacent to different longitudinal halves of the ink absorbing material, and the casing is initially filled with an amount of ink which is larger than the quantity of ink which can be retained by the ink absorbing material. Then, ink adjacent to the air vent is removed to such an extent that the casing contains the quantity of the ink which the ink absorbing material can retain. Thus, ink is retained at a higher density adjacent to the ink supply port than adjacent to the air vent.

摘要： A liquid jet head includes a heat generating element for producing a bubble to eject liquid from the head, a heat acting zone in which heat generated by the heat generating element produces a bubble in the liquid, a liquid supply passage adjacent the heat acting zone and having a liquid supply opening, with a center, for supplying liquid to the heat acting zone, and a liquid ejection passage adjacent the heat acting zone and having an orifice, with a center, through which the liquid is ejected, the liquid ejection passage including a diverging portion extending in a direction from the heat acting zone toward the orifice. A first plane that includes a first center line passing through the center of the orifice and along a direction of liquid ejection through the orifice, and a second plane that includes a second center line passing through the center of the liquid supply opening and along a direction of the supply of liquid from the liquid supply passage to the heat acting zone, cross in the diverging portion of the liquid ejection passage. At least a portion of the liquid supply passage and at least a portion of the diverging portion have a common, collinear surface substantially parallel to the second center line.

摘要： A disk array system capable of efficiently cooling the canisters and achieving the high-density mounting of the canisters without reducing the number of canisters is provided. In the disk array system having a HDD box which stores a plurality of canisters, a canister on an upstream side of cooling air and a canister on a downstream side of the cooling air both standing upright are arranged with a difference in level therebetween in the HDD box. The canister on the upstream side has a reliability assurance temperature lower than that on the downstream side, and a disk size of the canister on the upstream side is smaller than that on the downstream side. Also, the canister on the downstream side is arranged higher than that on the upstream side so that an alarm indicator LED and a ready indicator LED can be checked visually.
