The product includes a power supply circuit board including a power supply circuit arranged thereon having an inductance element, and a wireless communication circuit board electrically connected to the power supply circuit. The wireless communication circuit board is mounted on the power supply circuit board. The product further includes a radiation plate which emits a transmission signal which is supplied from the power supply circuit through electromagnetic field coupling and which has a frequency substantially determined in accordance with a resonant frequency of the power supply circuit, and which is used to supply a reception signal to the power supply circuit through electromagnetic field coupling.

摘要: A data coupler includes an antenna substrate that is not electrically connected in a DC arrangement to an electric power line, is arranged adjacent to the electric power line, and is connected to a modem. A resonant circuit including an inductance element and a capacitance element is provided in the antenna substrate. In the resonant circuit, the inductance element is magnetically coupled to the electric power line. The resonant circuit transmits a radio-frequency signal superimposed on the electric power line to the modem. The resonant circuit also transmits a transmission signal from the modem to the electric power line.

The radiation plate includes an opening provided in a portion thereof and a slit connected to the opening. When viewed in plan from the direction of the winding axis of the coil pattern, the opening in the radiation plate overlaps with an inner area of the coil pattern and the area of the inner area is approximately the same as that of opening.

摘要: A radio frequency IC device achieves impedance matching between a radio IC chip and a radiation plate in a wide frequency band, and achieves desired radiation characteristics over a wide range of frequencies. A radio frequency IC device and a radio communication system allow both long-distance and short-distance communication and, in particular, allow short-distance communication using a small amount of energy. The radio frequency IC device includes an electromagnetic coupling module including a radio IC chip and a feed circuit board, and a radiation plate. An annular electrode is arranged to be coupled to both a feed circuit of the electromagnetic coupling module and the radiation plate. The radiation plate defines an electric-field radiation plate for long-distance communication, while the annular electrode defines a magnetic-field radiation plate for short-distance communication. The feed circuit board may be removed, so that the radio IC chip is coupled to the annular electrode directly or with an interposer disposed therebetween.

摘要: A wireless-IC-device main component is disposed on a surface opposite to a surface for receiving signals from a reader/writer. The wireless-IC-device main component includes an insulating substrate, which is provided with a loop electrode and an electromagnetically coupled module coupled to the loop electrode. A signal from the reader/writer causes an eddy current to flow across a conductor principal plane of a metal article. The eddy current causes a magnetic field to be generated in a direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the conductor principal plane of the metal article. Then, the loop electrode is coupled to the magnetic field. Thus, the wireless-IC-device main component functions as an RFID tag even for signals from the principal plane opposite to the wireless-IC-device main component. Thus, it is possible to reduce the cost of manufacturing a metal article, and to provide a wireless IC device using the metal article as a radiator.

摘要: A wireless IC device includes a cutout portion having no aluminum-deposited film that is provided at an end of an article package made of an aluminum-deposited laminated film, and an electromagnetic coupling module is provided at the cutout portion. The electromagnetic coupling module and the aluminum-deposited film of the package define a wireless IC device. A loop electrode, which is a magnetic field transmission auxiliary radiator of the electromagnetic coupling module, is coupled to the aluminum-deposited film of the package. Thus, the article package functions as a radiator of an antenna.
