Abstract:
A new conversion database associated with information to be finally stored in a host information database is stored in a RAM along with a previous conversion database. Each processing unit refers to the new conversion database to identify data to be held in the host information database of the processing unit itself and refers to the previous conversion database to identify the processing unit which currently holds the data thus identified. The processing unit further relocates the data to be held in the processing unit itself from the processing unit thus identified.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a home subscriber server configuration method and system that is accessible in switching to any one of plural HSS servers in a redundant configuration. Information stored in such plural HSS servers (e.g., HSS-A server 40A and HSS-B server 40B) are synchronized as identical information. When an interrogation for a particular HSS server to be accessed from the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 is received, the access information for the plural HSS servers 40A, 40B corresponding to the interrogation is returned after rearranging to the predetermined order of priority to the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 from which the inquiry is originated. If no response is received from either one of the HSS servers returned from the SLF server 50 within a predetermined time after the access or if no response is received to the resend operations, the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 selects the next HSS server from the plural HSS servers and gains access to such HSS server after switching thereto.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical refractive index-modifying polymer composition which can efficiently modulate (change) refractive index upon light irradiation, and exhibits such high storage stability that the once modulated refractive index does not substantially change anymore upon time elapse, and the optical refractive index-modifying polymer composition comprises as a main component a polymer (A) which is a polymer of monomers including an acrylic vinyl monomer represented by the following formula (1): CH2═C(R1)—C(═O)O—R2═CH2 (1) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 represents a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and the molecule may contain a hetero atom or a halogen atom, as an essential component and contains a remaining radical-polymerizable side-chain vinyl group in the molecule, wherein the composition comprises a thermally curable polymer (B) in an amount of 5 to 60 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polymer (A).

Abstract:
A magnetic disk system comprises a magnetic head for writing data on and reading data from a magnetic disk as a recording medium and a magnetic disk unit having a head positioning mechanism for positioning the magnetic head on a selected track of the magnetic disk without forming servo information on the magnetic disk. The magnetic head comprises an MR film which is disposed parallel to the direction of the width of a track of the magnetic disk, current supplying electrodes disposed to be in contact with both ends of the magnetic film which are opposed in the direction of the track width and a signal detecting electrode disposed between the current supplying electrodes to be in contact with the MR film. The width of the signal detecting electrode is less than 1/3 of that of the current supplying electrodes. The magnetic disk system permits highly accurate alignment of the magnetic head with closely spaced tracks.

Abstract:
A magnetic disk storage device has a magnetic disk with a storing/reproduction region formed thereon and a head slider facing the disk surface with a plurality of parallel projections to generate an air bearing. Magnetic heads each having a head gap are provided in the projections and have an interval between head gaps of at least 1/N of the width of the whole storing/reproduction region of the disk where N is the number of heads. The device makes it feasible to increase the number of heads per disk and to shorten the seek distance without increasing the weight of the head actuator.
Abstract:
A vehicle jack comprises a base with means for moving the jack smoothly on a ground, an upright shell located on the base, an upright hydraulic ram located inside the shell and including a cylinder construction and a hollow rod, a vehicle support for directly supporting the bottom of a vehicle to be jacked up, a hydraulic source for raising the cylinder construction, and a locking means for mechanically preventing the cylinder construction from lowering from a raised position. The cylinder construction may include an outer cylindrical wall, an intermediate, slidable cylindrical wall capable of being extended upwardly from the rest of the cylinder construction and having openings through any one of which a pin may be inserted to fix the intermediate cylindrical wall at a required height, and an inner cylindrical wall defining an inner cylinder chamber. The hollow rod is located inside the inner cylindrical wall, and is fixed to the base at its bottom and defines an inner oil path which is in communication with the cylinder chamber. The hydraulic source is in communication with the oil path and supplies a hydraulic oil through the oil path into the cylinder chamber to raise the cylinder construction to lift up a vehicle with the vehicle support. The locking means, for example, may comprise a thread formed on an outer circumference of the outer cylindrical wall of the cylinder construction and an annular stopper provided around the outer cylindrical wall and having at an inner surface thereof a thread which is in engagement with the thread on the outer cylindrical wall.
