摘要： An IC chip socket for receiving an IC bare chip carrier includes a guide member for guiding the periphery of the IC chip carrier. The guide member supports a plurality of connector pins having one end projecting within the guide member and another end projecting without the guide member. The connector pins electrically connect the electrodes of the chip carrier to the electronic circuit substrate. The respective ends of the connector pins projecting within the guide member are brought into contact with the electrodes of the IC chip carrier. The ends of the connector pins which project without the guide member are connectable with the electrodes mounted on the surface of the electronic circuit substrate.

The drive circuit also includes a current application time control circuit for varying the period of time during which current flows to the heat generating elements. Dot printing is produced with constant power and constant temperature over a wide range of power supply voltage variations. The time control circuit includes a charging circuit having a capacitor, and a discharging circuit connected in parallel. The charging circuit is inserted between the power supply terminals and includes a constant voltage component. A switching circuit operates in response to the level of charge on the capacitor to control the application of current to the heat generating means.

摘要： An image reader includes a main unit having a plate-like document holder on which an original document is to be placed, and an image reading section for reading an image carried by the original document. The image reader further has a cover secured to the main unit. The cover can be turned to open and close a space on the document holder. The cover is turnable about a first axis defined by a straight line extending in a first direction substantially on the plane of the document holder. At least part of the cover is turnable about a second axis defined by a straight line extending in a second direction which is substantially orthogonal to the first direction. The image reader can be placed on, for example, a desk top selectively either in a horizontal posture in which the document holder extends substantially parallel to the desk top plane or a vertical posture in which the document holder extends substantially vertically to the desk top plane. The image reader reads an image of an original document regardless of the posture of the main unit and can be installed so as to meet a space requirement, through suitable selection of the direction in which the cover is turned to open or close it. Also disclosed is an image information processing apparatus incorporating this image reader.

摘要： A thermal printer drive control apparatus of the type having a thermal print head comprising a plurality of heating elements provides for reliable cost effective thermal head temperature detection by means of producing multiple, different current flow intervals that are applied to binary data to produce data drive signals for the heating elements. The current flow intervals are based upon historical drive data derived from linear temperature conditions sensed at the thermal print head. This information is converted to a digitized representation for use in conjunction with a table placed in memory that provides predetermined current flow intervals based upon the digitized representation. Further, circuitry is provided to produce heating element drive signals having pulse widths based upon the determined current flow intervals.
