Abstract:
A laser printhead assembly for a laser printhead is disclosed herein. The laser printhead assembly may include a laser containment door; and a laser containment housing that is configured to form a sealed enclosure with a label support of a rewriteable label. The sealed enclosure may be configured to include the rewriteable label and the laser printhead. The laser containment door, in a laser-enabled position, may be configured to permit the laser printhead, via a light beam, to modify the rewriteable label and the laser containment door, in a laser-disabled position, may be configured to prevent a light beam from escaping the laser containment housing.
Abstract:
A printing press for digital printing on three-dimensional objects includes a plurality of printing stations arranged in a specified radian on an outer peripheral edge of a press wheel. Each one of the printing stations includes an inkjet print head for digital printing on three-dimensional objects and a rotary table for holding the three-dimensional object. A printing unit prints on the three-dimensional object by separate printing of a mark or a logo executed as a pad print. The printing unit includes a mechanical feed unit and a plurality of pads successively arranged on a rotating wheel. The pads and the surfaces of the printed three-dimensional objects held in the printing stations are held in the same radian and move at the same circumferential speed so that the pads print on the three-dimensional objects by means of a tampograph.
Abstract:
A printing device includes an image recording portion which records an image on a sheet, an image defect detection unit which detects the sheet on which image defects occur, a setting unit by which a sorting number of copies of the sheets is set, a first stamper unit which attaches ink to a leading end edge of the sheet on which the image defects occur, and a second stamper unit which is disposed so as to be arranged with the first stamper unit in a sheet width direction and attaches ink to the leading end edge of the sheet corresponding to the sorting number of copies.
Abstract:
A system for delivering a greeting card using a form, the system including a computer system for determining information relating to at least one interactive element associated with the delivery of a greeting card, and an identity indicative of the at least one interactive element. The computer system generates print data indicative of the information and the identity, and then transfers the print data to a printer. The printer is responsive to the print data to print the form including the information and coded data relating to the at least one interactive element, the coded data being coincident with the information. This allows a sensing device placed in an operative position relative to the information to sense at least some of the coded data and generate indicating data using the sensed coded data.
Abstract:
In an image sensing apparatus having an electronic flash that illuminates an object and an image sensor that acquires an image of the object as an image signal, whether to perform a process regarding pink-eye correction for the image of the object acquired by the image sensor is selected before image sensing. The process regarding pink-eye correction is performed for the image of the object in accordance with the selection result. Process result regarding pink-eye correction is displayed together with the image of the object before pink-eye correction or the image of the object after pink-eye correction.
Abstract:
A method and system for enabling user interaction with computer software running in a computer system. The user is provided with an interface surface containing information relating to the computer software and including coded data indicative of at least one interactive element relating to the computer software. A sensing device in the form of an optically sensing stylus contains identifying data indicative of an identity of the user. When the user writes with the stylus, or uses it as a pointer, an operative end of the stylus is brought into contact with the interface surface. The sensing device senses indicating data indicative of the at least one interactive element using at least some of the coded data. The computer system receives the identifying data and the indicating data from the sensing device. The interactive element is identified in the computer system using the indicating data, and user data is identified using the identifying data. The computer software is operated at least partly in reliance on the user data, and in accordance with instructions associated with the at least one interactive element.
Abstract:
A mechanism in which appending information such as a quantity of advertisement information appended to a record medium and its size is previously stored in a memory to determine service contents according to the stored appending information.
Abstract:
A method for providing a mailing system includes receiving, through a computer system, a mail item from a sender, and printing the mail item in a document including coded data thereon, the coded data including an indication of the identity of the mail item and at least one reference point on the document. The method also includes using a sensing device to capture images of at least some of the coded data, when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the document. Indicating data generated by the sensing device is then received in the computer system. The indicating data includes information regarding the identity of the mail item and at least one action of the sensing device in relation to the document using at least some of the coded data. A second mail item is then generated using said indicating data from the sensing device.
Abstract:
When a digital camera DC, having a sensor for detecting an orientation of the digital camera DC, transmits an image signal to a printer for printing an image, a layout of character data, e.g., a date, to be printed with the image can be determined in accordance with the orientation of the camera at the time of print designation of image in the digital camera DC, and the character data can be printed with the image on a printing medium in the layout in accordance with the orientation of the camera.
Abstract:
The claimed invention is directed to an information processing apparatus for adding additional information to each page of a document, which comprises a print setup unit for setting a binding position for a document; an additional information setup unit for setting a position of additional information to be added to each page of the document; and a rendering unit for rendering the additional information at an appropriate position on the basis of the position set by said additional information setup unit, wherein when said additional information setup unit sets a relative position to a binding position, a rendering position of the additional information is determined for each page in accordance with the set relative position and the binding position set by said print setup unit.
