    摘要: A method for decreasing acetaldehyde content of melt processed polyester comprising combining with polyester an organic additive compound that scavenges acetaldehyde from polyester. The organic additive compound comprises at least two component molecular fragments, each component molecular fragment comprising at least two hydrogen substituted heteroatoms bonded to carbons of the respective component molecular fragment. Each component molecular fragment is reactive with acetaldehyde in the polyester to form water and a resulting organic compound comprising an unbridged five or six member ring including the at least two heteroatoms. The reduced acetaldehyde content polyester is particularly useful for making containers such as for packaging beverages.

    摘要: Methods and apparatuses for generating, by a computing device configured to interpret a handwritten expression, a symbol graph to represent strokes associated with the handwritten expression, are described herein. The symbol graph may include nodes, each node corresponding to a combination of a stroke and a candidate symbol for that stroke. The computing device may also generate a segment graph based on the symbol graph by combining nodes associated with a same stroke if strokes of their preceding nodes are the same. Also the computing device may perform a structure analysis on at least a subset of segment sequences represented by the segment graph to determine hypotheses for the handwritten expression. In other embodiments, rather than generate a segment graph, the computing device may determine segment sequences by selecting a number of symbol sequences from the symbol graph and combining symbol sequences having the same segmentation.

    摘要: The coated multilayer structure comprising a polymeric base layer, an inorganic oxide gas barrier layer on a surface of the polymeric base layer, and a top coat on the inorganic oxide gas barrier layer, the top coat comprising a soluble compound capable of reducing the permeability of the multilayer structure to gas or vapor. A method for enhancing the gas or vapor barrier properties of a multilayer polymeric/inorganic oxide structure is also disclosed. According to one embodiment, SiOx coated polyethylene terephthalate containers are coated with a gas or vapor barrier enhancing top coat.
