Abstract:
Preform (1) or preform assembly for blow molding a container (23), wherein the preform or preform assembly has a neck portion (4), a lid element (16) being provided at the neck portion, an opening extending into the neck portion, providing access to an internal space of the preform or preform assembly. Method for blow molding a container. Container blown from a preform or preform assembly.
Abstract:
[Problem] To realize a predetermined “aseptic level of the containers” without introducing a container sterilizing machine and to reduce the burden for adjusting the temperature of the preform.[Means for Solution] A metal mold for molding, wherein a space width (t2) of at least the body portion in the space width for forming a thickness of from the body portion to the bottom portion of the preform is set to lie in a range of 1.18 to 2.11 times as great as a space width (t1) for forming a thickness of an upper end portion of the mouth portion of the preform. At the time of the compression molding, the preform is taken out in the state of a high temperature from a compression-molding machine 31 and is fed to a bottle-producing unit C while maintaining the state of a high temperature. Further, the inner surfaces of a clean box I in which the units are placed and the outer surfaces of the units are sterilized, and the interior of the clean box I maintains a positive-pressure state with the filtered clean air. The bottle-producing unit C and a filling/sealing unit D are neighboring and directly coupled to each other in the same clean box, and are partitioned by a WBZ 54.
Abstract:
An injection molded preform for making a stretch blow molded container having an overall stretch ratio of from about 12 to about 16, wherein the overall stretch ratio is a product of a hoop stretch ratio and an axial stretch ratio, wherein the hoop stretch ratio is from about 5.6 to about 6.5, wherein the axial stretch ratio is from about 2.4 to about 2.7, and wherein the preform comprises a CG PET Copolymer having a free blow volume of from about 650 to about 800 ml measured at 100° C. and 90 psi using a 25 gram weight preform designed for a 500 ml container with a maximum diameter of 65 mm and a height of 200 mm from below the container finish and having a hoop stretch ratio of 5.5 and an axial stretch ratio of 2.6. This invention also relates to a method of making such preforms and stretch blow molded containers and methods of making the same.
Abstract:
A one-piece plastic container includes a body defining a longitudinal axis. The body includes an upper portion, a sidewall portion and a base portion. The upper portion defines an opening into the container. The sidewall portion may be integrally formed with and extend from the upper portion to the base portion. The base portion closes off an end of the container. The opening defines a radial sidewall and a generally linear sidewall. The generally linear sidewall may be defined by an inset portion formed on the upper portion.
Abstract:
A preform having a low IV and including a PET Copolymer including a diol component having repeat units from ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol and a diacid component having repeat units from terephthalic acid and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. The total amount of diethylene glycol and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid is present in the poly(ethylene terephthalate) copolymer in an amount from about 0.1 mole percent to less than 2.8 mole percent. The preform is useful in making containers and corresponding methods are disclosed.

Abstract:
The plastic container and body including a body portion, a neck defining a finish and having an opening therein and a closure connected to the end of the neck by a strap. The strap is formed with a weakened line such as to define a integral hinge about which the closure is folded after filling the container with the contents in order to bring a plug portion of the closure into engagement with the opening of the finish.
