    摘要: An orienting and angular positioning device for the rotational axis of a rotatable load such as a dish antenna for the dynamic tracking of a non-stationary satellite is described. The antenna is supported on a support member which is rotatably mounted on one mounting plane of a wedge-shaped intermediate member which has two mounting planes which are inclined relative to one another at a predetermined angle A. The other mounting plane of the wedge is rotatably mounted to an inclined upper mounting plane of a fixed member. Releasable mechanisms are provided for holding the fixed member solidly connected with the support member and for holding the intermediate member solidly connected with the support member. A drive unit is fixed to the intermediate member and has a drive pinion engaged with a gear on the support member. When the fixed member and support member are held solidly connected with one another operation of the drive unit causes rotation of the wedge relative to both members to reorientate the rotational axis of the support member. The support member can be rotated about its axis by operation of the drive unit when the intermediate member is held solidly connected with the fixed member.

    摘要: A modular control sub-assembly in a fuel control system for a turbine engine such as a jet engine, comprises a pressure drop detector constituted by a slide axially movable in a bore of a casing, and an overspeed limiter disposed coaxially in said casing at one end of the bore containing the detector slide. The slide is rotatably driven by the overspeed limiter through a fork coupling and, when the plant overspeed threshold is exceeded, the slide is moved axially by the overspeed limiter in the same direction as on detecting an increase in the pressure drop across a fuel flow feed regulator to reduce an output control pressure signal and thereby cause a control valve to open which reduces the fuel flow and hence the overspeed.

    摘要: A fuel control system for a turbine engine includes a fuel flow regulator comprising a double differential piston slidable in a sleeve to vary the opening and closing of a fuel inlet or outlet and thereby regulate the output flow of fuel from the regulator. A first fixed stop limits the movement of the piston in one direction to define the maximum output flow of fuel permitted by the regulator, while a second stop, in an operative safety position, limits the movement of the piston in the opposite direction to define a minimum fuel output threshold. The second stop can, however, be retracted to an inoperative position by actuation of a control circuit to allow the minimum fuel output threshold to be overcome and the regulator piston to reach an extreme nil outflow position.

    摘要: A sealing device is disclosed for maintaining a small positive clearance between packing segments and the turbine blade tips of a turbojet engine. The packing segments are connected to an inner ring which is, in turn, connected to an outer ring, all disposed within the turbojet casing. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the inner ring is greater than that of the outer ring such that, as air is directed onto the structure from the engine compressor, the differential expansion or contraction of the rings serves to move the packing segment in a radial direction to maintain the clearance between them and the turbine blade tips.

    摘要: A multi-axis force and moment transducer having a plurality of flexible plates, orthogonally oriented, interconnected between first and second bodies to measure the forces exerted thereon due to relative movement between the bodies. The interconnection between a first element attached to the first body and a second element attached to the second body is affected by a plurality of first thin flexible plates and a plurality of second thin flexible plates, the ends of the plates being interconnected by a ball-joint coupling. The first thin flexible plates are oriented such that they flex in a direction generally perpendicular to a first axis, while the second thin flexible plates are oriented such that they flex in a direction generally parallel to such axis. Strain gauges may be provided on each of the thin flexible plates to provide an output of the forces.
