摘要:
An endoscope has a tubular shaft whose interior contains components, in particular lenses, spacers, diaphragms, prisms and filters of an optical system, said components being at least partially surrounded by a support piece made of shrunk material. It is proposed that the components be surrounded by a transparent and tube-sleeve-shaped shrunk material which has been shrunk before the components are introduced into the tubular shaft.

An endoscope comprising a shaft comprises an imaging system arranged in the shaft and an illuminating system which allows light emitted by a light source to emerge at the distal end of shaft, wherein the light source comprises at least one light emitting diode. The light source comprises at least two light emitting diodes which emit light in different spectral ranges, and the light of the at least two light emitting diodes emerges spectrally additively mixed from the illuminating system.

An endoscopic optics fitted with lens elements and securing device to secure the element positions against shifting in case of being impacted. The securing device is a circumferentially expansible tube that jointly encloses, at least at one abutment surface, the adjoining ends of two lens elements while being of a lesser inside diameter than the outside diameter of the lens elements and being permanently prestressed against them.

An endoscope has a tubular shaft in whose interior is arranged at least one component of an optical system. At least one support element made from a shrinkable material surrounds at least partially said component in a radial gap between the outer side of said component and the inner side of said tubular shaft. After shrinking of said support element the radial gap is filled up in a manner such that the component is immobilized on the inner side of the tubular shaft via the shrunken support element (FIG. 1).

An endoscope contains no adhesives, epoxies, or other organic materials. The endoscope includes a set of lenses held in position by cylindrical spacers. A pair of windows seal the ends of the endoscope, and prevent the lenses and spacers from falling out. The windows are brazed to the endoscope. Due to the use of brazing, no adhesives are needed to hold the lenses or windows in place. Thus, one can sterilize the endoscope in the high temperature environment of an autoclave, without risking damage to the optical components. The brazing produces a hermetic seal which enables the endoscope to function properly in an environment of high temperature or high pressure, or in chemically abusive environments.

A stereoscopic endoscope system for producing images that can be perceived in three dimensions. An endoscope apparatus includes a sheath carrying a light source and two independent fixed lens endoscopes. Collimated light from the proximal ends of each endoscope are directed along folded optical paths to independent video cameras. The images generated by the video cameras energize monitors in a virtual reality display device that can be positioned proximate an observer's eyes. Adjustable mirrors and the provision of the rotation of at least one of the video cameras on its axis facilitate the alignment of the images for maximum effect.

A relay lens for an endoscope or optical instrument is shown. The relay lens includes a first rod-type lens element having a first end and a second end. The first end defines a substantially spherical surface and the second end defines a convex surface. An optical element is positioned in axial alignment with and adjacent the first rod-type lens element. The optical element has a concave surface and a convex surface. The concave surface of the optical element is bonded to the convex surface of the second end of the first rod-type lens element forming a single bonded gap between the concave and convex surfaces. A second rod-type lens element having a first end and a second end, wherein each of the first end and second end defines a substantially spherical surface, is positioned in an axially aligned relationship with the first rod-type lens element and spaced from at least one of the first end of the first rod-type element and the concave surface of the optical element. A method of manufacturing a relay lens is also shown.

An endoscopic telescope has a system tube in which spacer tubes are alternatingly stacked with rod lenses each having an external diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the system tube and which have convex end faces supported against the axial ends of the spacer tubes. An end of at least one of the spacer tubes protrudes axially at an angle and at a rotational position so that it abuts the adjacent convex surface of a rod lens, thereby tilting the rod lens relative to the system tube axis. The spacer tubes and the rod lenses are mounted spring loaded between end holding devices in the system tube.

A multi-use disposable endoscope capable of being sterilized and reused for a number of surgical procedures and then discarded is disclosed. The endoscope is adapted to withstand a number of sterilization cycles without experiencing degradation of the functional systems of the scope, and yet retains the cost effective qualities of a disposable endoscope. The endoscope preferably is formed in accordance with methods utilized for manufacturing a disposable endoscope, e.g., incorporating inexpensive plastic components for the housing sections of the scope as well as for the various systems of the scope. Particular attention is directed to adequately sealing potential leakage areas of the endoscope, such as the distal end of the endoscope and the juncture of the endoscopic portion and the eyepiece section.

An arthroscope includes an frame member, an illumination system and a light guide connection port associated with the frame member for connecting to a light guide to transfer illumination light to the illumination system. The light guide connection port includes a support member having a tapered inner wall portion for supporting a transmissive element having a tapered portion. The support member includes a plurality of inner mounting projections extending from the tapered inner wall portion and being radially arranged and positioned to contact the outer surface of the light transmissive element to maintain the light transmissive element in spaced relation relative to the tapered inner wall portion.
