    摘要: A wind turbine includes rotor blades pivotably mounted in a gondola such that the pitch of the blades is adjustable, and pitch adjustment mounted coaxially and pivotably on the rotor axle such that the pitch adjustment are rotatable relative to that axle. The gondola is furthermore connected via torsion positioning to the axle, such that it can rotate relative to the pitch adjustment to adjust the pitch of the rotor blades. The wind turbine may also include a cable for each rotor blade, which are each with one end connected to the blade and with their opposite end to the rotor axle, such that the blades are supported by the cables against movement in the radially outward direction.

Accordingly this wind power generator has an excellent starting performance and can control the excessive rotation at low cost.

The system balances the thrust loads on the turbine against centripetal forces generated by masses reacting to the rpm, increasing the blade pitch with gusts to increase torque and hence rotational acceleration and reducing blade pitch in lulls to conserve rotational momentum, and uses springs to establish the starting position and the rpm limit appropriate for the generator mechanism.

Therefore, a mass element is utilised to store mechanical energy which in turn is used to deploy an aerodynamic braking operation. It also represents a means to control and limit the amount of torque, as absorbed by the turbine in high-wind conditions, and thus provides the ability to harvest electrical/mechanical energy, beyond the normal operational wind speeds of turbines.

    摘要: The present invention is for an apparatus and method for a passive pitchable device for wind turbines comprising: a camshaft having cam grooves engraved; a cylindrical shell; an axial compression spring; said blade assembly and said cylindrical shell are fastened together by screws; a plurality of balls that roll along said cam grooves, and convert the axial displacement to rotation or pitch angle; and wherein the passive pitchable device ensures said blades are at the optimum angle of incidence in the stationary position; as the rotor turns, the net force between centrifugal force on said blade and the resistant force from said compression spring causes the device to move axially outward while rotating to adjust the pitch of the rotor blade so that angle of incidence is optimal for the given wind speed; as the wind speed exceeds the design speed and the centrifugal force on the rotor blade continues to increase, the device continues the move axially outward while rotating in the opposite direction as to adjust the pitch of the blade in the opposite direction so that the rotor performance is controlled and severe dynamic loads are avoided.
