摘要: A method and apparatus for producing and viewing stereoscopic images through the use of a color coded image whereby the desired depth or distance is based upon the color of the portion of the image being viewed. Therefore the parts of the image which are to appear distant are colored red whereas the parts of the image to appear in the foreground are colored blue with the middle ground or intermediate distances being colored green or yellow. The color coded image is viewed through a prism glass constructed so that blue light which passes through the prism is bent toward a sharper angle than red light. Because the apex of the prism before each eye points toward the nose or center of the glasses the eyes must then turn more inward to see a blue object than to see a red object even though they are in actuality in the same plane on the display. This leads to brain to interpret, by means of parallax, that the blue image is closer and the red image is more distant unless the parallax is greatly contradicted by other depth clues such as relative size, position and perspective. In a preferred form, a double prism is used for each eye in order to eliminate single prism problems such as visual disorientation and eye strain.

摘要: A periscopic rear view optical system for vehicles in which an image of a rearward objective is reflected downwardly from a rooftop mirror through a prismatic device constructed as a transparently faced housing filled with a liquid suitable for the optical path to be within the critical angle at the desired reflective faces for reflection of the image to the driver of the vehicle. A modification of the device includes adjustable prism faces to accommodate different driver heights, with the spatial dimension variations produced by the adjustment effecting a vertical movement of the device.

摘要: The invention relates to a lens, comprising a container (100) defining a volume (V) which is filled with a transparent liquid (2), wherein the container (10) comprises a transparent and elastically deformable membrane (20) and a rigid member (30), wherein the membrane (20) and the rigid member (30) delimit said volume (V), and a lens shaping element (200) that contacts the membrane (20) and defines an area (21) of said membrane (20), which area (21) has an adjustable curvature for adjusting the focal length of the lens (1). According to the invention, the lens (1) is configured to compensate a thermal expansion of the liquid (2) and/or a change of the refractive index of the liquid (2) due to an increased temperature of the liquid (2) in order to reduce an unwanted thermally induced change of the focal length of the lens (1).

摘要: An electromagnetic wave cloaking device is described. The device may include a plurality of first-type dielectric units, a plurality of second-type dielectric units, and a plurality of four kinds of spacers. The dielectric units and the spacers are arranged such that an electromagnetic wave incident unto the cloaking device can be refracted within the device and around a cloaking area surrounded by the device.
