    摘要: A field emission display includes first and second substrates provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween; electron emission sources provided on one of the first and second substrates; an electron emission inducing assembly for inducing the emission of electrons from the electron emission sources; and an illuminating assembly provided on the substrate on which the electron emission sources are not formed, the illuminating assembly realizing images by the emission of electrons from the electron emission sources. The electron emission sources include a carbon nanotube layer and a base layer, the base layer connecting the carbon nanotube layer to the substrate and applying a voltage to the carbon nanotube layer required for the emission of electrons. Also, the carbon nanotube layer is provided on the base layer in a state substantially un-mixed with the base layer.

    摘要: A Carbon NanoTube (CNT) structure includes a substrate, a CNT support layer, and a plurality of CNTs. The CNT support layer is stacked on the substrate and has pores therein. One end of each of the CNTs is attached to portions of the substrate exposed through the pores and each of the CNTs has its lateral sides supported by the CNT support layer. A method of vertically aligning CNTs includes: forming a first conductive substrate; stacking a CNT support layer having pores on the first conductive substrate; and attaching one end of the each of the CNTs to portions of the first conductive substrate exposed through the pores.

    摘要: An display device and a method of making the display device are disclosed. The electron emitter is coated with metal oxide nanoparticles. The display device includes an electron emitter. The electron emitter has carbon particles and metal oxide particles. The carbon particles have surfaces and at least part of the metal oxide particles is formed on at least part of the surfaces of the carbon particles. When the carbon nanotubes having coated outer walls are used in the electron emitter, electron emission occurs in carbon nanotube tips and the coated outer walls, which increases an electron emitting region and conductivity of the carbon nanotubes due to coating particles when adjacent carbon nanotubes come into contact with each other.

    摘要: Provided are a low-temperature formation method for emitter tips including copper oxide nanowires or copper nanowires and a display device or a light source manufactured using the same. The low-temperature formation method includes preparing a substrate having an exposed copper surface. The copper surface contacts an oxide solution at a low temperature of 100° C. or less to grow copper oxide nanowires on the surface of the substrate. Optionally, a reduction gas or a heat is supplied to the copper oxide nanowires, or plasma processing is performed on the copper oxide nanowires, thereby reducing the copper oxide nanowires to copper nanowires. Thus, emitter tips including copper oxide nanowires or copper nanowires are formed densely at a low temperature such that the emitter tips have a shape and length suitable for emission of electrons.
