Multi-user short packets may be aggregated and/or simultaneously transmitted for DL, UL, or peer-to-peer (P2P) transmissions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing efficient downlink Hybrid Automatic Request (HARQ) feedback. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless device in a cellular communications system comprises receiving a downlink control information message comprising a HARQ feedback buffer index and storing a downlink HARQ feedback flag in a position within a HARQ feedback buffer that corresponds to the HARQ feedback buffer index. In this manner, multiple downlink HARQ feedback flags can be stored in the HARQ feedback buffer and subsequently transmitted to a network node in an efficient manner.

Abstract: A base station (103) assigns a set of mobile stations (101) to a group wherein the group will share a set of radio resources (770). A shared control channel information element (501) is sent to the group of mobile stations (101) and provides a bitmap having fields for group ordering (511), resource allocations (530), continuation resources (540) for HARQ, and an ordering pattern (513). If a mobile station requires retransmission it will access the resources indicated by the continuation resources field (54) in order to receive data. The HARQ blocks may be assigned to a mobile station based upon an index (601) which may correspond to the mobile station vocoder rate. Further, HARQ subgroups may be defined to associate subgroups of mobile stations with specific HARQ transmission opportunities on the super-frame and allocated by a rotating bitmap.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to communication networks and more specifically to methods and devices for data communication over a communication network. A method according to the invention comprises, at a transmitting node: obtaining a plurality of frames including first-type frames associated with an acknowledgment policy requiring acknowledgment and second-type frames associated with an acknowledgment policy requiring no acknowledgment; aggregating the frames of the obtained plurality of frames into an aggregated frame including at least one leading frame of second type and frames subsequent thereto, in an order depending on their associated acknowledgment policies; sending the aggregated frame to a receiving node; and sending an acknowledgment request frame to the receiving node to request it to acknowledge receipt of only subsequent frames of the aggregated frame. Such data communication scheme is liable to reduce bandwidth waste and head-of-line blocking and thus latency, compared to known scheme.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for indicating a frame type using a physical layer convergence protocol header. A method for determining a frame type using a PLCP header may comprise: a step of demodulating a frame type contained in an SIG of the PLCP header so as to acquire information indicating a physical service data unit (PSDU) of a frame; and a step of acquiring frame information required for demodulating the frame contained in the SIG dependently on the information indicating PSDU. Thus, unnecessary information may not be additionally demodulated to thereby improve demodulation efficiency and reduce unnecessary power consumption.
