Abstract:
A communication network that includes a signaling system seven (SS7) network is operated by associating call release messages, which are indicative of call failures in the communication network, with an originating point code (OPC) and/or a calling number. The rate at which calls originating from the originating point code and/or the calling number are admitted to the network may be adjusted based on the association between the call release messages and the originating point code and/or the calling number.
Abstract:
A system, method and tool for monitoring switching events in a network with at least two nodes, and a corresponding network, the system, method and tool including means for representing the events originated from different nodes as data in a uniform format, and means for counting the occurrence of events in a node of the network wherein switching events being represented as the same data are counted as the same event.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for analyzing errors of a data stream, particularly a real-time data stream, in a data network (100). According to said method, a time stamp and/or a sequence number is/are determined from or for each data packet transmitted between two communication terminals (10, 12) of the data network (100), a history (diagram) and/or a frequency distribution (histogram) of at least one data transmission parameter determined from the plurality of time stamps and/or sequence numbers of the data packets of the data stream is generated, and a pattern of the history and/or the frequency distribution of the at least one data transmission parameter is identified in order to determine the location and/or the cause of an error during the transmission of the data stream in the data network.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer readable media for providing or managing or using voicemails are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at a first data processing system, data representing an expiration time of a voicemail left for a user of the first data processing system and storing the data representing the expiration time for later use by the first data processing system. Systems, media, and other methods are also described.
Abstract:
A system and method for creation and automatic deployment of personalized, dynamic and interactive voice services relating to subscriber corporate analysis related information, including information derived from on-line analytical processing (OLAP) systems. More specifically, the invention relates to a system and method that enable personalized delivery of corporate analysis-related information in real-time, via natural language voice communication with a voice-enabled terminal device.
Abstract:
In recent times, communications service providers have been able to offer large business enterprises the ability to share call center operation among multiple geographically dispersed call centers. In particular, network-resident call handling technologies have been developed for performing some of the handling and queuing of each inbound call within the communications network, that is, before the call is forwarded to an ACD at a particular call center. However, by outsourcing a portion of the call center operations to a network-based call routing system, the call centers are no longer able to maintain direct control over, and are generally unable to directly access information, such as statistics, about the calls in the network or other call centers. Accordingly, an interface is provided that allows an entity to obtain information about calls within the network or other call center(s).

Abstract:
In telecommunications networks the problem with call forwarding restriction according to prior art is that access through call forwarding to numbers with ensuring an answer rather than possible further forwarding is not possible. The invention is based on the idea that call forwarding is allowed despite call forwarding restriction when the number to be used in forwarding the call meets special conditions set beforehand. The number is thus compared with the preset conditions and depending on the result of this comparison the call is either forwarded or not.
Abstract:
System for monitoring the performance of at least one line at a node of a digital communication network, such a system including a set of hardware registers associated with the line for registering line performance information associated therewith, a set of counters associated with the line, each counter defining a parameter depending on the line performance information, and a processing unit for, during a predetermined period of time, gathering the line performance information from the counters in a performance report to be sent to a network management unit. One table (22, 24 or 26) is associated with the line and stores all the data necessary to read the parameter for each counter of the associated set of counters with the line, and a processing machine (20) reads the table, sequentially computes the parameters defined by each counter by using the data stored in the table, and sequentially updates the counters.
