Abstract:
Disclosed are improvements in digital copier machines and methods for controlling an output job to issue onto a removable digital storage media. A drive unit is provided and configured to removably receive a removable digital storage medium such as an optical disc. A picker mechanism is configured to deliver the removable digital storage medium to the drive unit from a supply of a plurality of removable digital storage media in response to a load drive unit signal. A selector is provided on the interface and operational logic is provided which is responsive to a user selection of the selector to issue the load drive unit signal and to convey the digital data between the control unit of the digital copier machine and the drive unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a refillable ink supply cartridge for a postcard printing camera system. The cartridge includes a pagewidth printhead having a series of holes etched on a back surface thereof for the supply of ink to a front surface of the printhead for subsequent ejection via a micro-electromechanical system. The cartridge also includes an elongate top molding piece and an elongate bottom molding piece configured to operatively receive the top molding piece to define a plurality of elongate ink reservoirs, said bottom molding piece supporting the printhead and having guide walls and block portions for arranging the ink reservoirs in fluid communication with the series of holes.
Abstract:
A document feeding apparatus includes a chassis having a plurality of side surfaces and a substantially level upper surface. A feed mechanism is mounted in the chassis. A document entrance passageway is defined by the chassis and substantially enclosed by the chassis, the document entrance passageway positioned adjacent the feed mechanism and including a document entrance on one of the plurality of side surfaces. A document exit passageway is defined by the chassis and substantially enclosed by the chassis, the document exit passageway positioned adjacent the feed mechanism and including a document exit on one of the plurality of side surfaces.
Abstract:
An optical text scanning device compatible with a small handheld computer such as a personal digital assistant (PDA). The scanning device allows for a clear view of the text that is scanned simultaneous to the scanning process so that the operator can continuously align the device to the text. The scanned images of the text are converted in real-time to standard byte or word characters for subsequent display on the computer's viewing screen. The operator can quickly verify the accuracy of the conversion by comparing the displayed character with the actual character of text on the surface that is being scanned. Scanned text characters are stored in standard digital text files for ease of manipulation.
Abstract:
A foldable information apparatus includes an upper unit having a display, a lower unit having operation keys, a biaxial hinge connecting the upper unit and the lower unit allowing the upper unit to be freely opened, closed, and rotated with respect to the lower unit, and an optical section provided on the top end portion of the biaxial hinge. The optical section includes at least one of a LED and a camera. The top end portion of the biaxial hinge is always exposed in the opened, closed and rotated states of the upper and lower units.
Abstract:
A direction-turning device for the lens of a camera phone is contained in a chamber extending between the front and rear sides of the camera phone, the chamber having front and rear openings each covered with a transparent window. The direction turning device includes a lens base fitted in the chamber having a lens in a sidewall of the lens base for shooting pictures, and a driving unit able to activate the lens base to rotate to let the lens to face toward the front side or the rear side of the phone through the transparent windows. Therefore, the invention is totally hidden in the chamber and able to optionally shift the lens to face toward the front side of the phone for self-shooting or the rear side of the phone for shooting normally.
Abstract:
A cartridge for a printing device includes a casing divided into a print media supply portion for housing sheets of paper and a storage portion for housing an ink supply and defining a print media exit opening. A print media transport mechanism is within the print media supply portion to feed print media out of the print media exit opening. The storage portion is defined by two separate moldings forming part of the casing in the form of an ink storage base molding and a cover molding.
Abstract:
To provide an image display device, such as a liquid crystal receiver or the like, that has a printer incorporated therein for printing a displayed image on the spot, upon switching-on of a television receiver, an image forming device is activated and images or the like are projected onto a display screen. Here, by appropriately operating an operation section or the like, a command requiring images being displayed on the display screen to be printed out, is inputted into the image forming device. As a result, the printing command signal is issued from the data processing section provided in the output section to the printer unit, together with an image file appropriately converted from video signals. The printer unit develops the input image file, prints the corresponding image, and outputs it.
Abstract:
This communicator makes it possible for the user to do telephone, facsimile, and data communication at any location. On a pen input device, a space eye 2, a telephone control system, a facsimile control system, and a data transmission system are mounted. All of them are operated by an input pen 55 or the space eye 2. The pen input device is connected to a wireless telephone equipment 7, and can be connected to a desired party through the public communication channel. In order to make the most of the equipment of a GPS user, the GPS user device 8 is connected to the pen input device 3. The current location of the GPS user is found through the GPS user device 8, and the data on the current location is transmitted to the party. Further, to make this communicator usable in any country, it is provided with means to connect it to a wireless telephone network of an individual service area of the country.
