Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method of designing spokes of a non-pneumatic tire which randomly arranges spokes around a circumference to optimize noise dispersion. The method of designing spokes of a non-pneumatic tire includes placing a plurality of spokes (2) holding and supporting a tread (1) to be radially installed around a circumference of the tire on a circular spoke support (3) under the tread (1) to be in contact with the ground, wherein the spokes (2) are arranged at three angles on the circular spoke support (3) around the circumference of the tire, the three angles being divided into a small angle (a), a medium angle (b) and a large angle (c), and the spokes (2) are arranged at irregular angles under a condition that a ratio (q) of the large angle (c) to the small angle (a) is greater than a ratio (p) of the medium angle (b) to the small angle (a).
Abstract:
A method intended for manufacturing a bicycle spoked wheel is described. By inserting the nipples or barrels for the attachment of the spokes in the spoke attachment seats from the inside of the spoke attachment chamber through a suitably sized opening, instead of from the outside, the rim of the bicycle wheel can be manufactured without additional openings, even when using conventional nipples or barrels.

A method is intended for manufacturing a bicycle spoked wheel. By inserting the nipples or barrels for the attachment of the spokes in the spoke attachment seats from the inside of the spoke attachment chamber instead of from the outside, after having inserted them in the chamber from a suitably sized opening, the rim of the bicycle wheel can be manufactured even without additional openings, still using conventional nipples or barrels.
Abstract:
A cast wheel body is formed with an angular slot for receiving a hammerhead bolt used to fasten a wheel rim to the wheel body with an angle piece cast in this slot being pushed outwardly by means of a vertically movable tool which deburs the areas where the angle piece is broken away and the adjacent walls of the wheel rim while also leveling the bolt support and compressing the wall for the bolt to a predetermined thickness.
Abstract:
A wire wheel is provided in which some of the array of spokes extending between the hub and the rim penetrate the latter in the outboard bead seat. This bead seat is of smaller diameter than the inboard bead seat but is covered by a ribbon of a plastics material the outer diameter of which corresponds to the bead seat. The plastics ribbon is trapped in the channel of the outboard bead seat and seals the spoke holes penetrating the outboard bead seat. Nevertheless a metal step is exposed above the plastics ribbon for abutment by the toe of the outboard tire bead (not shown).
Abstract:
Used and/or scrap pneumatic tires may be used for making wheels and pulleys for low speed, low load and low cost applications, the bead of the tires being utilized as the means mounting the tire, the bead being deformed to a generally polygonal shape. When plates are substituted for spokes on the wheels, low cost tumblers are produced.
Abstract:
A vehicle wheel and method of and apparatus for assembling wherein the wheel includes an annular rim and a spider inserted within the rim bridging the area defined by the rim. The spider is secured to the rim in a plurality of places by a series of overlapping seam welds. In assembling the wheel a method of utilizing opposed welding electrodes engaging the rim and spider, respectively, is employed, as well as apparatus for welding and moving the wheel to create an overlapping seam weld.
