Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a garment-type electronic device capable of reducing discomfort during the wearing in the garment-type electronic device comprising an electrical wiring using stretchable conductor composition. In a part in contact with a body surface of a garment-type electronic device, a level difference at the boundary between the electrode portion where the conductor is exposed and the wiring portion covered with the insulating cover layer is substantially eliminated, whereby a garment type electronic device with a natural wearing feeling in which discomfort during wearing has been reduced is obtained. Furthermore, by providing the projections and the depressions in the fabric texture on its surface, a more natural wearing feeling is obtained. Such a garment-type electronic device can be produced by a printing transfer method.

Abstract: A battery operated device and method of removing a battery therefrom are described. The battery operated device includes a battery compartment, a battery in the battery compartment, and an electric component powered by the battery. The battery compartment is mounted on a deformable base and includes a top surface which is adapted to be ruptured by deforming the deformable base, thereby enabling removal of the battery from the battery compartment. The method of removing a battery from a battery compartment of a battery operated device includes rupturing a top surface of the battery compartment by deforming a deformable base of the battery compartment, and removing the battery from the battery compartment.

Abstract: A fabric-based item may be provide with a stretchable band. The stretchable band may be formed from a ring-shaped strip of stretchable fabric having an opening configured to fit around a body part of a user. Circuitry may be coupled to strands of material in the stretchable band. The circuitry may include sensor circuitry for making measurements on the body part such as electrocardiogram measurements, blood pressure measurements, and respiration rate measurements. Wireless communications circuitry in the fabric-based item may be used to communicate wirelessly with external electronic equipment. A wireless power transmitting device may transmit wireless power. A coil formed from conductive strands in the fabric-based item may be used by wireless power receiving circuitry in the fabric-based item to receive the wireless power. The coil may have one or more turns that run around the ring-shaped strip of stretchable fabric.

Abstract: Long-term electrocardiographic and physiological monitoring over a period lasting up to several years in duration can be provided through a continuously-recording subcutaneous insertable cardiac monitor (ICM). The sensing circuitry and the physical layout of the electrodes are specifically optimized to capture electrical signals from the propagation of low amplitude, relatively low frequency content cardiac action potentials, particularly the P-waves that are generated during atrial activation. In general, the ICM is intended to be implanted centrally and positioned axially and slightly to either the left or right of the sternal midline in the parasternal region of the chest. Additionally, the ICM includes an ECG sensing circuit that measures raw cutaneous electrical signals and performs signal processing prior to outputting the processed signals for sampling and storage.

Abstract: Disclosed are devices, systems, and methods for determining the dipole densities on a cardiac surface using electrodes positioned on a torso of a patient. Electrodes are integrated into a piece of clothing worn by a patient. The clothing serves to fix the position of the electrodes adjacent a patient's torso. Ultrasonic transducers and sensors are used to determine a distance between the epicardial surface and the electrodes and are also used to detect epicardial surface motion as well as epicardial wall thickness.
