Abstract: A method for improving effectiveness of a steam generator system includes providing air to an air preheater at a mass flow such that the air preheater has a cold end outlet temperature defined by the improved air preheater operating with increased heat recovery (HR) of at least 1% calculated according to the equation: HR=100%×((Tgi−TgoAdvX)/(Tgi−TgoSTD)−1). The method requires either reducing the amount of heat that flows into the air preheater from the flue gas and/or increasing the amount of heat extracted from the flue gas. The method includes mitigating SO3 in the flue gas which is discharged directly from the air preheater to a particulate removal system and then directly into a flue gas desulfurization system. The method includes extracting heat from the Flue gas to create equipment preheat and/or flue gas stack reheat air with the latter being fed to heat the flue gas prior to entering a discharge stack to raise the temperature of the flue gas to mitigate visible plume exiting and to mitigate corrosion in, the discharge stack.

Abstract: A clothes-treating apparatus includes: a housing including an accommodating space to accommodate clothes therein; and a plurality of air conditioning modules provided inside the housing and different in an air conditioning function from each other, wherein each of the plurality of air conditioning modules is provided to be switched over between an exposing status in which the air conditioning function is activated and a blocking status in which the air conditioning function is inactivated, and a first air conditioning module among the plurality of air conditioning modules is in the exposing status while a second air conditioning module is in the blocking status. Thus, the clothes-treating apparatus prevents the air conditioning functions of the plurality of air conditioning modules from being offset by each other, thereby improving the effects of the air conditioning functions and extending the life of each air conditioning module.

Abstract: A pressure swing adsorption gas production device that enables performing a desorption process in adsorption towers is provided. The device includes an off gas discharge route connected to the adsorption towers, a membrane separation unit with a separation membrane allowing miscellaneous gas in the off gas discharge route to pass faster than purification target gas, an off gas tank, and a pressure boosting unit that raises the pressure of and supplies the off gas to the membrane separation unit. The off gas tank and the pressure boosting unit are upstream of the membrane separation unit. The device includes a recycle gas return route via which some recycle gas is returned to the source gas supply route. The operation control unit adjusts the off gas adjustment unit so the off gas discharge flow rate is a flow rate where the amount of off gas discharged from one adsorption tower during the desorption process is equivalent to the amount of off gas discharged from the off gas tank when the one adsorption tower starts the desorption process until another starts the desorption process.

Abstract: A generator of inert gas from an airflow, in an inerting system for at least one aircraft fuel tank is disclosed. The generator includes a system with an air inlet and means for distributing the airflow to a plurality of air separation modules arranged in parallel on the air system to deplete oxygen in the air and generate a nitrogen-enriched inert gas at the outlet. The generator also includes a programed control unit for the distribution means to selectively supply air to a single, a portion or all of the air separation modules, depending on the flight phase of the aircraft.

Abstract: An altitude simulation assembly for an environmental chamber includes: at least one ambient air inlet; an air compressor downstream of said ambient air inlet for compressing the ambient air; at least one gas separation means downstream of the air compressor for separating the compressed air into hypoxic gas and hyperoxic gas; and, at least one fluid flow control means in fluid communication with the at least one gas separation means, for controlling the flow of hypoxic gas and hyperoxic gas to the environmental chamber. The at least one fluid flow control means is in fluid communication with at least one outlet port for supplying hypoxic gas from the gas separation means to the at least one outlet port, and hyperoxic gas from the gas separation means to the at least one outlet port. The fluid flow control means controls the oxygen concentration of gas to the environmental chamber.

Abstract: The device for producing and treating a gas stream (F) includes an exchange enclosure (2) having at least a first discharge opening (2b) for a gas stream, means (3; 4) for supplying the enclosure with a liquid (L), means (3; 5) for discharging the liquid (L) contained in the exchange enclosure (2) and aeraulic means (6), which make it possible, during operation, to create, by means of suction or blowing, an incoming gas stream (F) coming from outside the exchange enclosure (2), so that said incoming gas stream (F) is introduced into the volume of liquid (V) contained in the exchange enclosure (2), and an outgoing gas stream (F′), treated by direct contact with said volume of liquid, rises inside the exchange enclosure and is discharged out of the exchange enclosure (2) through the discharge opening (2b).

Abstract: An environment control system utilizes oxygen and humidity control devices that are coupled with an enclosure to independently control the oxygen concentration and the humidity level within the enclosure. An oxygen depletion device may be an oxygen depletion electrolyzer cell that reacts with oxygen within the cell and produces water through electrochemical reactions. A desiccating device may be g, a dehumidification electrolyzer cell, a desiccator, a membrane desiccator or a condenser. A controller may control the amount of voltage and/or current provided to the oxygen depletion electrolyzer cell and therefore the rate of oxygen reduction and may control the amount of voltage and/or current provided to the dehumidification electrolyzer cell and therefore the rate of humidity reduction. The oxygen level may be determined by the measurement of voltage and a limiting current of the oxygen depletion electrolyzer cell. The enclosure may be a food or artifact enclosure.
