摘要： Fabrics are treated in machine drying apparatus to reduce static electricity carried by the fabrics, soften the fabrics and improve other fabric properties. A reusable dispenser of solid or semi-solid fabric-conditioning agent is placed within the dryer drum and the fabrics are tumbled in the dryer thereby causing some of the fabric-conditioning agent to be transferred to the fabric. When the dryer is heated, the heat of the dryer helps cause the fabric-conditioning agent to soften and assist in its distribution over the surface of fabric with which it is brought into tumbling contact.

摘要： Concentric annular walls are fixed to and project upwardly from a shaft mounted disc which is adapted for high speed rotation. The inner wall extends to a greater height than the outer wall and defines a circular chamber with an annular chamber being defined between the walls. Fabric to be painted is stretched over the inner circular chamber with the excess received within the annular chamber, the fabric being retained taut over the higher inner wall by a holding hoop sealed against the outer surface of the inner wall and overlying the surrounding annular chamber.

摘要： An apparatus and method for removing excess coating material from chain link fabric during the manufacture of the fabric. A gang of sprocket members are arranged side-by-side on a shaft for rotation about the shaft axis. Each of the sprocket members includes a plurality of radially outwardly extending teeth having notches formed along the length thereof. Chain link fabric is passed over the gang of sprockets such that the teeth engage through respective openings formed by the wire or other members of the fabric. When the fabric is removed from the sprockets, the notches in the teeth cause intermittent hitching and release of the fabric which vibrates the fabric to remove excess molten coated material from the fabric. The gang of sprockets is arranged intermediate a coating tank and a cooling tank for the chain link fabric such that the coating material is in the molten state when it passes over the sprockets. The sprocket members are dimensioned slightly smaller than the openings in the chain link fabric and the notches are configured so as to permit relatively smooth movement of the teeth into the openings in the fabric while providing a vibration inducing interengagement between the notches and fabric members upon withdrawal of the fabric from the sprockets.

摘要： Wire plating apparatus includes a heating drum to which the wire to be coated is continuously passed, and from which it is passed continuously through an alkyl aluminum plating solution. From the plating solution, the wire is placed around a rinsing drum where it is rinsed with a hydrocarbon spray. The wire from the rinsing drum is then passed back around the heating drum, and back through the same path as during the previous cycle. Thus, the number of wraps around the heating drum is determinative of the number of heating, plating and rinsing cycles carried out, and these cycles are carried out automatically in the described apparatus.

摘要： A method and associated apparatus are provided for scouring knit fabrics such as tricots the edge of which tend to curl. The web of material is fed onto a pair of running pin chains which engage the marginal edges of the material and carry it in a flat condition through a scouring station. Scouring liquid is delivered over the web by pressure sprays as well as sheets of liquid to remove oils and dirt. The pin chains then carry the web over a vacuum slot which removes most of the liquid from the center portion of the web. High pressure air jets are located along the path of travel of the web and positioned to direct high pressure air jets against the web edges to remove moisture therefrom. The web is then carried through a drying chamber using heated air and vapor mixture. Chemicals of various types can be applied with a high degree of penetration by the use of one or more suction boxes located at or after a chemical application station.

摘要： Method and apparatus for processing coiled tubing or other material having turns prebent to varying radii of curvature without unbending the tubing. A coil of tubing is rotatably supported and the turns of tubing from the coil are sequentially separated axially of the coil. The axially separated tubing is guided into and through a processing station. The tubing is maintained on a predetermined path through the processing station by sensing deviation of the tubing from the predetermined path and then directing the tubing into the path in response to the sensed deviation. The trailing end of the tubing is sensed as it passes through the processing station, and further directing of the tubing is discontinued.
