Abstract:
A decorative panel formed from layers comprising a transparent or translucent display panel, a supporting panel, an interchangeable decorative panel disposed between the display panel and the supporting panel, and a retaining band for surrounding the periphery of the panels and retaining the layers in generally abutting relation. The retaining band is removable so as to permit replacement of the decorative layer. The panel system of the invention provides a cost effective means of changing the look of cabinetry that is easy to implement and results in little wastage of materials.
Abstract:
Various systems are provided for building blocks having the appearance of wood shake. In one embodiment, a building block includes first side body portion including a protrusion, a second side body portion including a recess configured to engage the protrusion of an adjacent building block, and a front body portion including a front exterior surface having vertical striated grooved lines configured to resemble a plurality of wood shakes; and a lower lip extending across the front exterior surface and extending below a lower surface. In another embodiment, a building block includes a front exterior surface having vertical striated grooved lines configured to resemble a plurality of wood shakes and a first side body portion including a side exterior surface having vertical striated grooved lines configured to resemble at least one wood shake and a lower lip extending across the front and side exterior surfaces and extending below a lower surface.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional edge cladding for an architectural opening that includes a forward facing portion having a substantially constant first profile along a longitudinal axis. The forward facing portion includes a plurality of spaced apart nailing flanges, stepped surface topography projecting generally forward and away from the flanges. A longitudinally extending channel receives a side facing portion having a substantially constant second profile that include a portion that is generally orthogonal to the nailing flanges. A joint cover portion for covering the section where two or more edge cladding members meet.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the building material industry and to the use of labor saving tools of industrial continuous and batch brick kilns. Said invention makes it possible to develop a process for producing large-sized clay ceramic products consisting in carrying out rapid and high-quality baking and to accelerate a construction process. The inventive method for producing a clay house or another clay construction consists in forming, during construction, through and blind voids in a wall and a ceiling in such a way that they are closed with a noncombustible material from outside, in covering window and door apertures in the ready clay construction with a noncombustible material, and in baking the construction to a ceramic state in such a way that hot gas penetrates into the voids and that the body of the product is uniformly heated. During baking the construction is used in the form of a furnace (combustion chamber).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to landscaping products (e.g. retaining wall building materials, landscaping stones/boulders, pavers . . . ) and wall veneering products that provide a replica image of a natural stone, rock, brick or wood surface. Such landscaping and veneering products are easily installable due to its lightweight characteristics and engagable design. The present invention further includes methods of use for such landscaping and veneering products and also includes systems for assembling such products to provide pleasing landscaping and wall veneering arrangements. The present invention also includes methods of manufacture of these imaged stone products, which ensures the natural appearance of stone, rock, brick or wood by imaging a natural surface, such as stone or a rock, preparing a mold from that image to mass produce a replica of that particular surface and applying a coating to the surface of the replica to provide the appearance and texture of the natural stone or rock.
Abstract:
This invention designed a vinyl panel and panel trim in such ways that hollow channels within the panel (and trims) are connected by thin vinyl walls and two flat surfaces on both side of a panel are formed through the extrusion process. The hollow channels reduce over 80% (depending on the thickness of the wall and surfaces) of vinyl needed for building such a panel in comparison to a solid vinyl panel of same size. The sides of the panel have tongue and groove formed in the extrusion process. The surface(s) of the panel can be further worked on with methods such as laminating patterned (such as wood-grains) PVC veneer, painting, pattern (such as wood-grains) printing, etc. Such panels and trims can be used as wainscot (or wall covering) as a more environmentally-friendly substitute for wood.
Abstract:
Laminated flooring panels include decorative motifs, mechanically embossed-in-registration surface textures, recessed perimeters, and locking mechanisms. The locking mechanisms facilitate the alignment of adjacent flooring panels. Adjacent flooring panels substantially aligned allow embossed-in-registration patterns to be substantially continuous across adjacent flooring panels. The recessed perimeter prevents the edges of the flooring panel from prematurely wearing. Individual flooring panels within the flooring system may comprise at least one partial sub-panel having a decorative motif and/or embossed surface texture that is complementary with a decorative motif and/or embossed surface texture of a neighboring partial sub-panel.
Abstract:
A reverse molded fiberboard panel; a wainscot kit comprising a plurality of differently sized reverse molded panels, and a planar finishing or spacer panel, adapted to completely cover any size wall between a wall base board and a wall chair rail; and a method of reverse molding a loose cellulosic mat, in a single pressing step, to provide one or more relatively high density, raised panels without requiring preliminary pressing, or other pre-shaping step, such as scalping. The reverse-molded panels are molded in a conventional, multi-opening fiberboard press, in a single pressing step process, while achieving excellent transfer of mold detail (embossing fidelity) without visually noticeable fiber fracture.
Abstract:
A flooring includes rectangular floorboards with long sides and short sides, the floorboards being joined in a herringbone pattern, long side to long side and long side to short side, wherein the floorboards have a surface layer of laminate, and the long sides of the floorboards have pairs of opposing mechanical connectors which at least allow locking-together both horizontally and vertically by inward angling.
Abstract:
A structure to form flooring transitions having outer surfaces comprising two disparate materials. In a preferred embodiment the flooring transitions includes a T-shaped molding and at least one attachment thereto. The outer surfaces of the T-molding and attachment may be comprised of different materials, even though they may sometimes have the same pattern or décor. For example, the T-molding may have a surface of real wood or veneer and the attachment may have an outer surface of abrasion resistant foil, metal, or even a visual perception element, such as lights or reflective tape. A kit is also disclosed.
