摘要： A hot pipe from an automobile manifold is shielded from other components in the engine compartment by attaching a two part shield around the pipe and clamping it in place. Each part is formed of two sheets of metallic material sandwiching therebetween a fibrous layer of heat insulating material. The layers of each of the shield parts are formed to a shape to conform to the shape of the hot pipe to be shielded prior to installation.

摘要： An ice dispenser includes a metal bracket fixed to the outer wall surface of an ice stocker and supports a shutter mechanism. A spacer made of a thermally insulating material is intervened between the bracket and the shutter mechanism. This will prevent cold inside the ice stocker from being conducted into the shutter mechanism to obviate the deposition of dew-condensation water on the shutter mechanism.

摘要： A tubular article of resilient material used as a protective sheathing for wires, hoses or other elongated substrates is provided with substantially circumferentially extending corrugations and a longitudinally slit side wall to allow for installation over the substrates. Fastening means in the form of hook-and-loop fastening tape is applied to the abutting edges of the slit so that the hooks and loops interlock when the slit is closed. The hook-and-loop tape protects the fingers of the worker during installation of the tubular article, prevents relative movement of the slit edges caused by turning and twisting forces, thereby eliminating undesirable noise during use and the need for taping following installation.

The void spaces between the insulator and the tubing inside wall can be filled with a sealing material. Alternatively, the voids around the substantially centralized conductors can be used as flow channels for the transmission of fluid pressure to a remote location, such as downhole. The conductors are protected because they are kept away from the tubing wall and can be further protected by the addition of the sealing material.

摘要： A non-metallic pipe collar is provided which encircles the external surface of a pipe. The pipe collar may be provided in several segments or single collar with a hinged portion which allows the collar to be spread open and placed around a pipe. In an alternate embodiment shims having a tapered outer surface are placed against the outer surface of the pipe before the pipe collar is placed around the pipe. The pipe collar has a tapered inner surface thus causing an interference fit between the shims and the pipe collar.

摘要： A double-containment piping assembly has two anchor supports, and at least one elbow fitting with an outer elbow section and an inner elbow section received within the inner elbow section. A first leg having a first inner pipe received within a first outer pipe is coupled between an anchor support and the elbow fitting. A second leg having a second inner pipe received within a second outer pipe is coupled between the other anchor support and the other side of the elbow fitting. First flexibility supports are mounted on either side of the elbow fitting, and permit axial and lateral movement of the inner pipe relative to the outer pipe in the areas of the elbow. First axial-guiding supports, which permit axial movement of the inner pipe relative to the outer pipe, but prevent lateral movement of the inner pipe, are each mounted a minimum distance from the elbow fitting between the inner and outer pipes. Any differential expansion of the inner and outer pipes relative to each other accumulates at the elbow fitting, and is absorbed by movement of the inner elbow section relative to the outer elbow section.

The apparatus used for forming the opening in a duct comprises a template having an arcuate portion with a radius substantially the same as the duct. The template has a window portion having substantially the same shape as the opening to be formed in the duct. A base plate is provided having an arcuate portion with a radius substantially the same as the radius of the arcuate portion of the template such that the base plate is slidably fittable over the template. A cutting device is attached to the base plate and has a cutting element extending through the base plate. The saddle has an arcuate portion having a radius substantially the same as the radius of the duct such that the saddle is slidably fittable against the duct and grips the duct. The arcuate portion has a hole formed for accepting a sleeve portion attached to the arcuate portion and communicating with the hole in the arcuate portion.
