Abstract:
A tube and conductor set includes a polymeric tube having a radially outward facing surface and a conductor having a polymeric sheath in which the polymeric sheath has a radially outward facing surface. The radially outward facing surface of the polymeric tube is bonded to the radially outward facing surface of the polymeric sheath of the conductor over an axial length, except for one or more unbonded intermediate axial gaps. These one or more unbonded intermediate axial gaps provide a starting point for the separation of one of the ends of the polymeric tube from one of the ends the conductor. It is contemplated that more than one tube and/or conductor can be bonded and that each line of bonding could have such unbonded intermediate axial gaps to facilitate ease of separation.
Abstract:
A reciprocating compressor or pump features a manifold arranged not only to define a hollow interior for receiving fluid discharged from a plurality of cylinders but also to define a base or frame on which the cylinders are carried. Unique valves formed in part by flexible material reduces the likelihood of fatigue and increases efficiency by retaining less heat relative to conventional reed valves. A compressor or pump mounted at an end of a handle extending parallel to a motor housing likewise extending from the compressor or pump provides an easy to carry portable assembly. A fan mounted between a motor and a compressor pulls air through the compressor inlet to both cool the motor and feed the compressor. A portable tool system powers both pneumatic and electric tools. Connecting rod structures for radial compressors or pumps provide improved strength and easier assembly

A cable is provided for suspending a down hole pump that has a core with at least one tube for the transport of fluid and at least one conductor covered with an insulation layer made of a high temperature resistant insulating material. The core is covered by a steel tape and a first layer of steel wires are positioned radially outside the steel tape in contact with the steel tape. The wires of the first layer of steel wires are positioned side by side around the core with no filler in between the steel wires and an outer layer made of heat resistant polymer covers the steel wires.

Abstract:
A ribbon cable includes electrical conductors surrounded by an insulator and vent tubes positioned adjacent and parallel to the conductors and insulator. The vent tubes allow airflow between an internal area of the enclosure and an external atmosphere and prevent access to the internal area of the enclosure.
Abstract:
A subsea control cable includes an outer sheath and cables, conduits etc. arranged inside the sheath, and also at least one weight element. The weight element includes at least one strength member extending continuously along the entire length of the control cable, to which strength member there is attached a weight element or elements. The weight of the weight element in relation to the diameter of the control cable varies along the length of the control cable, e.g., from a predetermined minimum weight/diameter ratio, where the weight element consists only of the strength element, to a predetermined maximum weight/diameter ratio, where the cross-section of the control cable is filled to the maximum with the weight member.
Abstract:
A reinforced cable having hauling, electrical and hydraulic lines. The cable has a substantially rectangular cross section and includes at least one internal support to protect these lines by resisting external compressive forces, and yet is bendable about one of its transverse axes for easy storage on and deployment from a drum. The internal support also protects the hauling lines from compressive forces applied longitudinally thereof by resisting radial displacement of the hauling lines. In one embodiment, the cable comprises an armor layer, a pair of engaged channels inside the armor layer, and a pair of corrugated supports inside the channels and fixedly spaced apart. The hauling lines, in the form of wire ropes, are located inside the corrugated supports, while the electrical lines are located inside the channels between the corrugated supports. The hydraulic lines can alternatively be located inside the channels between the corrugated supports, or inside the wire ropes. Any spaces inside the channels are filled by elastomeric material. In another embodiment, the cable comprises a rigid tubular support located between and engaging the wire ropes, and an armor layer engaging and enclosing the tubular support and the wire ropes. In this embodiment, the electrical conductor is located inside the tubular support.
Abstract:
A downhole, electro-hydraulic pump assembly, having a hydraulic power piston connected to a double-acting production piston is disclosed. Hydraulic power for operating the power piston is developed downhole by a mechanical pump which is driven by an electrical motor carried within the pump housing. The electrical motor is energized by high-cycle electrical power conducted from a surface facility for increased pumping capability in very deep wells. Long stroke capability is provided by an annular piston and a tubular connecting ram which ride on a tensioned guide tube. The effective production piston area is maximized for efficient production in both up-stroke and down-stroke by conducting the flow of formation fluid produced in the down-stroke through the bore of the tensioned guide tube. The electric drive motor and hydraulic drive pump are operated safely at high power levels because of the improved heat dissipation arrangement in which the electrical motor and pump are cooled by circulation of the power fluid within the pump housing, with the power fluid being continuously circulated to the surface through a filter and heat exchanger. In a preferred embodiment, the downhole electrical drive motor is energized from the surface by a cyclo-converter having a continuously variable frequency output, whereby the stroke speed is also continuously variable over a wide range to accommodate changes in the producing formation.
Abstract:
A thermally insulated composite flexible hose, particularly suited for heat exchanger connections in building structures, comprising an outer foam jacket of thermal insulation and an inner extended unitary elastomeric extrusion comprising primary tubes spaced apart by an intermediate section separable therefrom along tear lines. The intermediate section may comprise two additional tubes smaller in diameter than the primary tubes. Insulated electrical conductors may be disposed along the outside of the unitary extrusion and inside the jacket.
