    摘要: An improved switch controller and related method for regulating the supply voltage of a solar cell array. The switch controller includes at least two shift registers, with additional shift registers concatenated as required by the size of the array. Each of the shift registers controls segments of the solar cell array having increasingly larger outputs, with the first shift register providing fine resolution control of the supply voltage and the second and additional shift registers providing increasingly-coarser resolution control of the supply voltage. The improved switch controller provides improved switching characteristics for the regulation of the supply voltage of a solar cell array.

    摘要: A circuit for stabilizing the operating voltage across a winding of output transformer of a sweep circuit of a cathode ray tube, including a plurality of current flow paths presenting resistances which are electronically controllable and each connected between a source of operating voltage which may fluctuate in amplitude and a respective one of a plurality of taps connected along the length of the winding, and a system for varying the resistances of the paths in response to changes in the amplitude of the operating voltage in such a manner as to maintain the voltage across the entirety of the winding substantially constant. The circuit is able to utilize inexpensive components while reducing overall energy losses.

    摘要: A regulated current source including a large inductance provides desired, average DC current by modulation of an electron switch, such that the inductance is disconnected from the power supply on a regular basis by a clock circuit, and the switch reconnects the power supply when the current in a return path to the inductor has decayed to a desired magnitude. The desired decay current across a resistor is compared with a reference which turns the switch on in the absence of the turn-off signal from a clock. As an energy saving adjunct in a deflection amplifier system for a CRT, a bipolar embodiment employing a single large inductance and duplicate other apparatus provides a regulated current of either polarity or zero magnitude, the inductor current being maintained even when providing zero current with the deflection system.

    摘要: A switching high voltage supply of the type which includes the secondary of a high voltage step-up transformer in series with a DC high voltage power supply, such as for providing different high voltages to a cathode ray tube, includes a capacitor in series with the primary to establish DC voltages that result from random duty cycles and variable DC input levels, the capacitor voltage being fed to the regulation or control input of the DC high voltage supply, whereby DC voltages are coupled by the capacitor to the high voltage supply and AC voltages are coupled through the high voltage transformer. In a second embodiment, the transformer has two secondaries each in series with a high voltage supply controlled by the DC voltage of the capacitor, to provide related, switched high voltages, such as for the anode and the focus of a beam penetration cathode ray tube.
