Abstract:
Horizontally polarized and dual polarized antennas are described herein. In some examples, a horizontally polarized and dual polarized antenna may be mounted or operated with the physical vertical axis of the antenna being substantially perpendicular to a plane defined by the surface of the earth, and emanate an electric field that is parallel to the surface of the earth. The antenna may have a multi-slot aperture that reduces a variation in the far field omni-directional pattern. The antenna may have various cross-sectional configurations, and may have a radome at least partially surrounding the antenna and a supporting structure.
Abstract:
An antenna unit is provided. The antenna unit includes a first substrate, a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, a first planar conductive ring and a feed conductor. The first substrate includes a first surface and a second surface, wherein the first surface is opposite to the second surface. The first conductive layer is disposed on the first surface. The second conductive layer is disposed on the second surface, wherein a main opening surrounded by a plurality of first conductive vias electrically connecting the first and the second conductive surface is formed on the second conductive layer, and the main opening defines a radiation cavity and center frequency. The first planar conductive ring surrounds the radiation cavity. The feed conductor feeds a wireless signal to the antenna unit. Both the first planar conductive ring and the feed conductor are placed between the first conductor layer and the second conductor layer.

An antenna of the present disclosure has a housing having a shallow cavity in a top of the housing and a shallow cavity in a bottom of the housing. The antenna further has a substantially circular radiating element disposed in the shallow cavity on the top of the housing, the radiating element having an arc shape slot. In addition, the antenna has a substantially circular parasitic element disposed in the shallow cavity on the bottom of the housing.
Abstract:
A compact disc coupled to a wireless communication device comprises the disc with a metalized outer portion, a wireless communication chip and a pair of tabs. The first tab may capacitively couple the wireless communication chip to the metalized portion of the disc. The second tab may be positioned in an inner portion of the disc with a gap delimited by the metalized portion and the second tab. A slot antenna is thus formed through which the wireless communication device may communicate. Wireless communication chip allows disc to be interrogated and identified for a variety of purposes, including, but not limited to security, advertising and promotion, and issuing of related coupons to customers for subsequent purchases.
Abstract:
According to various aspects, antenna elements are provided for multi-band sleeve dipole antenna assemblies for use with wireless application devices. The antenna elements generally include first and second radiating elements. The first radiating elements may be tuned for receiving electrical resonant frequencies within a first frequency bandwidth. The second radiating elements may be tuned for receiving electrical resonant frequencies within a second frequency bandwidth different from the first frequency bandwidth.
Abstract:
A multiband base station antenna for communicating with a plurality of terrestrial mobile devices is described. The antenna including one or modules, each module including a low frequency ring element; and a high frequency dipole element superposed with the low frequency ring element. The element includes a ground plane; and a feed probe directed away from the ground plane and having a coupling part positioned proximate to the ring to enable the feed probe to electromagnetically couple with the ring. A dielectric clip provides a spacer between the feed probe and the ring, and also connects the ring to the ground plane. An antenna element is also described including a ring, and one or more feed probes extending from the ring, wherein the ring and feed probe(s) are formed from a unitary piece.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a new type of multihole antenna which is mainly suitable for mobile communications or in general to any other application where the integration of telecom systems or applications in a single antenna is important. The antenna consists of a radiating element which at least includes one hole. By means of this configuration, the antenna provides a broadband and multiband performance, and hence it features a similar behaviour through different frequency bands. Also, the antenna features a smaller size with respect to other prior art antennas operating at the same frequency.
Abstract:
An antenna (10) having a top (14), a bottom (16), and a longitudinal axis (20). An outer shell (12) of electrically conductive material is provided which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis, and which includes an outer top wall (22) joining with an outer side wall (24) that extends toward the bottom of the antenna. The shell defines an interior region (18) that is filled with a dielectric material, and the shell has at least one slot (30) with opposed slot ends. Each slot extends from one opposed slot end in the side wall, and at least partially across the top wall to an opposed other slot end. A coaxial feed (32) extends from the bottom of the antenna to the top of the antenna, to convey electromagnetic energy to or from the top wall of the antenna.
Abstract:
The present invention by propagates a traveling wave of electric current along a microstrip antenna structure rather than a standing wave. By loading an antenna with a series of capacitive gaps of the correct values, the shape of the electric current distribution can be tailored to suppress the resonant properties of the antenna, specifically the standing wave of electric current that normally forms along the antenna structure. A microstrip antenna having a “bulls-eye target” structure comprised of a center disk and concentrically larger capacitively coupled annular sections will tailor the shape of the electric current distribution to achieve a suppression of the resonant properties of the antenna, thereby increasing the antenna bandwidth.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for the reception and/or the transmission of electromagnetic signals comprising at least one means of reception and/or of transmission of electromagnetic signals, consisting of an antenna of the slot type and a feed line coupled electromagnetically with the slot of the antenna so as to connect the means of reception and/or of transmission of electromagnetic signals to means of utilization of the signals, the feed line being coupled electromagnetically with the slot at two points chosen such that the electromagnetic waves exhibit a circular polarization.
