    摘要: Heating systems including a boiler for heating a heating fluid, a plurality of heating accessories each requiring input of heat, piping connecting the boiler with the heating accessories, at least one of the heating accessories being placed in series relative to at least one other of the heating accessories, and a valve system including a variable speed pump and an associated control system for varying flow of the heating fluid from the boiler. Each heating accessory is configured such that heating fluid from the boiler delivered through the piping to each successive heating accessory provides heat to each heating accessory and the heating fluid is returned to the boiler at a sufficiently low temperature (e.g., no more than about 120° F.) so as to allow the returned heating fluid to be used to condense water out of flue gas generated by the boiler so as to maximize the efficiency of the boiler.

    摘要: An angularly shaped inflatable bladder assembly adaptable to use as a damper or shut-off means for control of fluid flow in fluid flow systems and more specifically for control of air flow in air conditioning systems. The angularly shaped bladder is formed of an assembly of fluid impermeable polymer sheet materials edge sealed. The bladder is bent to a desired angular form less than 180 degrees and at least one layer being flexible fluid conformable material without shape memory so that it responds to inflating fluid such as air pumped between the layers through a connection to the bladder. One or two inflatable pockets are provided upon bending the assembly along a line between two opposite edges of the bladder. Upon inflation the single or two pockets enlarge and push the opposite sides of the assembly further apart whereby the angle between the two becomes wider, or upon deflation the opposite sides are drawn together to narrow the angle. By mounting one side in fixed position as a base in a fluid channel while the other is allowed to be moveable as a gate when the pockets are inflated or deflate, a desired degree of restrictive throttling or shut off of fluid flow in the channel can be effected.

    摘要: In an expansion tank with a bladder-type diaphragm inside the tank, the diaphragm is provided on the outside with an annular open-holding element fixed to the diaphragm. The annular open-holding element may be positioned between two inwardly extending ribs disposed on the inside wall of the expansion tank. The ribs lie at distance from each other and extend preferably essentially perpendicular to the center line of the tank. The bladder-type diaphragm is preferably made up of two parts being attached to each other with their edges by means of an open-holding ring with a U-shaped cross-section. The edges of the diaphragm parts are accommodated in the U-shape and clamped together by the legs thereof. In the collapsed state the shape of the diaphragm can be controlled so that an optimal shape as regards the strain in the material of the diaphragm is obtained.

    摘要: A tank formed using two half shells may be used as an expansion tank, expansion equalizer, pressurized fluid buffer tank or the like. Two half shells are provided with a projecting flared profile having a first section angled outwardly from the wall and a flange directed perpendicularly outwardly. The tank halves are joined by abutting the flanges, and the angularly offset sections adjacent the flanges form a bearing area or seat for sealing with an internal diaphragm. The diaphragm separates the tank into sections and is arranged at its end to receive and positively hold a ring of a profile complementary to the internal profile defined by the outwardly flaring sections adjacent the flanges of the tank. The flanges can be folded over one another and against the wall of the tank to physically attach the half shells.

    摘要: A variable-volume receptacle, especially for use as a compensating receptacle in heating systems. The receptacle includes two membrane-like sheets of rubber or synthetic material; the sheets have the same surface areas, and are placed against one another. The edges of the sheets are bound together by a peripheral U-shaped strip which is attached to both sides. The novel edge connection is considerably more durable than the conventional overlap connection, and as a result of not being susceptible to the otherwise constant danger of tearing due to having been folded, the connection also has a much longer life than do the heretofore known overlap connections.
