Abstract: An ATV is shown having a steering system comprised of a power steering unit having drive and driven pitman arms coupled to a drag link. The drive pitman arm is laterally offset from a vehicle centerline and is driven by the power steering unit. An alternate power steering system includes a pack and pinion subassembly coupled to a power steering motor, which then couples to steering arms of the ATV.

Abstract: A seat latching system for use in moving a movable seat portion between a first position and a second position. The seat latching system includes a first fastener that is attached to a first location and a second fastener that is attached to a second location. An elongated resilient strap extends from a first end to a second end and has a first coupling at the first end and a second coupling at the second end. The first coupling is attached to the first fastener and the second coupling is attached to the second fastener. The elongated resilient strap allows the movable seat portion to move between the first position and the second position while the strap is under tension.

Abstract: A system for regulating the speed of a vehicle includes defining a first border for a first geographic region. The border has a first speed within the border and a second speed outside of the border. The system includes determining a first velocity of the vehicle including a vehicle speed and direction of the vehicle approaching the border. The difference between the vehicle speed and the second speed is the calculated, as is a distance between the vehicle and the border. If the difference between the vehicle speed and the second speed divided by the distance is greater than a predetermined value, the vehicle is decelerated at a rate so that the vehicle will have a second speed when the vehicle reaches the border.

Abstract: A system for starting an engine of a vehicle has a fuel injector injecting fuel into a closed intake port to form an air fuel mixture. The system also includes an actuator rotating a crankshaft in a first direction to open the intake port by moving a piston within a cylinder coupled to the crankshaft. A combustion chamber defines between the cylinder and the port receiving the air fuel mixture through the intake port. The actuator rotates the crankshaft in a second direction to close the intake port. A spark plug ignites the air fuel mixture to start the engine. The engine also includes many other disclosed features.
