Abstract:
A flame-retardant clear coat is produced by applying to the surface of a substrate a paint consisting of ammonium phosphate monobasic, pentaerythritol, dicyandiamide and a vehicle; a decorative material; and a paint consisting of a polyurethane resin of the type used in paints, tris(2-chloroethyl)-phosphate and tris(2-bromoethyl)-phosphite in the order mentioned.
Abstract:
The methylation of a phenol in an ortho position by the vapor phase reaction of the phenol with methanol using as a catalyst a sintered mixture of ferric oxide, at least one divalent metal oxide of the general formula: MO wherein M is selected from Zn, Mg, Co., Ni, Cr and Cd, and a small amount of manganese oxide calculated in terms of manganese, up to about 1.0% by weight of said ferric and divalent metal oxides, 2,6-dimethyl phonol is a preferred product.
Abstract:
A method for purification of sodium hydroxide, wherein a crude caustic alkali concentrate obtained by the electrolysis of a sodium chloride-containing solution is brought into direct contact with a refrigerant incapable of dissolving said concentrate so as to cool the concentrate and consequently precipitate sodium hydroxide crystals and the precipitated sodium hydroxide crystals are separated and then melted by utilizing the heat of liquefaction of said refrigerant to produce highly purified melted sodium hydroxide.
Abstract:
A coupled article formed by having a pair of members inserted one into the other is placed within a plating chamber. The vapor of an extremely hard coating material is introduced into said chamber while a rotational or vibrational motion is conferred upon one of the pair of members, so that said coating material is deposited to a prescribed thickness on the fitted surfaces of the pair of members composing said coupled article.
Abstract:
A paste composed of glass having a low fusion point and metal powder is fired on a ceramic material to form a very thin metallic film thereon. A metal body of easily deformable shape is then sandwitched between this film and the metal material to which the ceramic material is to be bonded and the contact points on either side are bonded to the respective materials by firing. The bonded ceramic-metal body so formed is stable in it''s mechanical, heat and electrical properties and is especially adaptable for use as the oxide electrode in MHD power generation.
Abstract:
A composition is produced by combining one or more members selected from the group consisting of cinnamic acid-vinylphenyl ester, cinnamic acid-isoalkenylphenyl ester, and homologs thereof, styrylacrylic acid-vinylphenyl ester, styrylacrylic acidisoalkenylphenyl ester and homologs thereof with a cationic polymerization catalyst. This composition is polymerized or copolymerized to form a novel photosensitive product. The product thus obtained is a linear polymer or copolymer in which only the vinyl group or isoalkenyl group is polymerized and the photosensitive group is quantitatively retained in the side chain. The polymer of copolymer has a high degree of photosensitivity and permits photosensitizing reaction to occur uniformly.
Abstract:
A method for fabrication of a lateral transistor is disclosed, which comprises the step of diffusing base impurity by means of the RED method from the same masking hole determining an emitter region on a substrate which includes the emitter region and a collector region on the crystalline main plane thereof.
Abstract:
In a fluidizing device adapted to effect chemical reaction, heat transfer, material transfer, etc. and provided with a cyclone unit, a plurality of internal members made of bars or tubes are disposed at fixed intervals within a free board section formed above the fluidized bed. When the fluidizing device has the internal members disposed as described within the free board section, agglomerates of constituent particles of the fluidized bed which fly out of the fluidized bed come into contact with the said internal members, with the result that the kinetic energy possessed by each agglomerate of particles is gradually consumed in the course of several contacts and the vertical component of the speed vector of the agglomerate of particles flying toward the cyclone unit is proportionally decreased. Consequently, the amount of fine particles produced due to collision into the inner wall surface of the column is markedly decreased and at the same time the absolute amount of particles flying into the cyclone unit is decreased to a great extent.
Abstract:
Briquets are manufactured by kneading in a hot blow atmosphere coal dust blended with asphalt containing 55-65 percent n-hexane soluble matter as the binder in a particular ratio and molding the kneaded blend under heat-compression. These briquets are further heat-cured in an oxidizing atmosphere and then calcined in an inert gas, to produce coke in the molded form. The resulting products have all the properties required for use in blast furnaces.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a semiconductor device comprising at least two semiconductor elements integrally connected by an insulator, each semiconductor showing negative differential conductivity under the influence of a high electric field. A high electric field domain or space charges which are generated in one of the semiconductor elements can be transferred to the other element by directly affecting the other element via an insulator.
