摘要: The disclosure relates to processes for producing lightweight polyethylene terephthalate articles such as bottles that retain good barrier properties against the permeation of oxygen, carbon dioxide and/or water vapor. The use of relatively small amounts of polytrimethylene furandicarboxylate during the formation of the PET bottles can produce a bottle having the required barrier properties and result in the use of less material.

摘要: A composition is disclosed that comprises at least one protein component of an RNA-guided endonuclease (RGEN) and at least one cell-penetrating peptide (CPP), wherein the RGEN protein component and CPP are covalently or non-covalently linked to each other in an RGEN protein-CPP complex. The RGEN protein-CPP complex can traverse (i) a cell membrane, or (ii) a cell wall and cell membrane, of a cell. The RGEN protein component of an RGEN protein-CPP complex in certain embodiments can be associated with a suitable RNA component to provide an RGEN capable of specific DNA targeting. Further disclosed are compositions comprising at least one protein component of a guide polynucleotide/Cas endonuclease complex and at least one CPP, as well as methods of delivering RGEN proteins into microbial cells, as well as methods of targeting DNA with RGENs.

摘要: Compositions and methods are provided for genome modification of a target sequence in the genome of a plant or plant cell. The methods and compositions employ a guide RNA/Cas endonuclease system to provide an effective system for modifying or altering target sites within the genome of a plant, plant cell or seed. Also provided are compositions and methods employing a guide polynucleotide/Cas endonuclease system for genome modification of a nucleotide sequence in the genome of a cell or organism, for gene editing, and/or for inserting or deleting a polynucleotide of interest into or from the genome of a cell or organism. Once a genomic target site is identified, a variety of methods can be employed to further modify the target sites such that they contain a variety of polynucleotides of interest. Breeding methods and methods for selecting plants utilizing a two component RNA guide and Cas endonuclease system are also disclosed. Compositions and methods are also provided for editing a nucleotide sequence in the genome of a cell.

摘要: Methods and compositions are provided which employ a silencing element that, when ingested by a pest, such as a Pentatomidae plant pest, decrease the expression of a target sequence in the pest. The present invention provides various target polynucleotides set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOS: 6-12, 18-40 or active variants and fragments thereof, wherein a decrease in expression of one or more the sequences in the target pest controls the pest (i.e., has insecticidal activity). 摘要: Laminate structure suitable for use as electrical insulation comprising: a) a corona-resistant layer comprising 90 to 99 weight percent uniformly distributed calcined mica and 1 to 10 weight percent aramid material, the aramid material being in the form of floc, fibrid, or mixtures thereof; b) a support layer comprising unidirectional or woven filament yarns, the support layer having a first and second face; and c) a resin-compatible layer comprising 60 to 80 weight percent uniformly distributed uncalcined mica and 20 to 40 weight percent aramid material, the aramid material being in the form of floc, fibrid, or mixtures thereof; wherein the first face of the support layer is directly bound to the corona-resistant layer and the second face of the support layer is directly bound to the resin-compatible layer; the laminate structure having a total mica content of 60 weight percent or greater.
