    Abstract: A magnifying glass captures an image of a tooth by a plurality of cameras for observation. The plurality of cameras includes a narrow range camera capturing a narrow range image of the tooth and a wide range camera capturing a wide range image of the tooth. The magnifying glass includes a three-dimensional position calculator detecting a three-dimensional position of at least the tooth based on the wide range image; a blur correction processor correcting a blur of the narrow range image, based on a change in a three-dimensional positional relationship between the tooth, the three-dimensional position of which has been detected by the three-dimensional position detector, and the narrow range camera; and an image display portion displaying at least the narrow range image having the blur corrected.

In the root canal treatment instrument 100, when a cumulative amount of rotation is equal to or greater than a reference amount of rotation, change to a drive pattern is made, forward rotation drive is continued until reaching 90 degrees, and when a load applied to the cutting tool 5 is equal to or greater than the reference load, drive of the cutting tool 5 is switched to reverse rotation drive until reaching 180 degrees.

The probe includes an optical component and is configured to receive light from the target. The housing includes electronic components each configured to process the light received from the probe. Moreover, the housing includes an air sending unit, and a controller configured to control driving of the air sending unit. The air sending unit is provided at a position above the electronic components in the housing when a user holds the housing during utilization of the image capturing device, and is configured to supply air to the optical component provided in the probe.

    Abstract: A root canal treatment apparatus includes a root canal treatment hand piece having a visible light camera which captures a visible light image of a tooth as a target of interest, and circuitry which detects a position of the root canal treating hand piece, and instructs display of three images corresponding to at least a tip position of a cutting tool attached to the root canal treating hand piece, an X-ray cross-sectional image of the tooth captured by X-ray CT image capturing beforehand, and the visible light image captured by the visible light camera such that the three images are displayed on a display in an overlapping manner in positional correspondence with one another, based on information on the position of the root canal treating hand piece detected by the circuitry.

    Abstract: A medical or dental handpiece has a grip. The grip includes first to third rotation shafts. The first and second shafts are connected through a first gear mechanism and the second and third shafts are connected through a second gear mechanism so that a rotation is transmitted from the first shaft through the first gear mechanism to the second shaft and then from the second shaft through the second gear mechanism to the third shaft. The first or second gear mechanism has an internal gear secured on one shaft and an external gear secured on the other shaft, the internal and the external gears being engaged with each other. The external gear is substantially enclosed within a cylindrical plane extending along a peripheral edge of the internal gear.
