摘要: Methods and systems disclosed herein involve conversion of precursors to electronic films with many properties such as conductor, resistor, semiconductor, photovoltaic, insulator and optical conversion films. There are a large number of materials such as transition metal oxides, metals, combination oxides that may be deposited as organic precursors and subsequently processed by radiated energy. In practice of the systems and methods disclosed herein, the films are processed by a “matched” radiation to either intrinsic absorption of the film precursors, or due to an added absorber to the film precursors. Since many of the precursors have been previously described as “Metal-Organic” precursors, the process can be described as “Metal-Organic Deposition by Enhanced Light-Absorption” (MODEL-A).

摘要: Compositions and methods for production of color images which are developable with improved marking sensitivity and image contrast are disclosed and described. Specifically, a color forming composition can comprise a polymeric activator phase including a polymer matrix and an activator dissolved therein, a color former phase including a color former, and a radiation absorber in thermal contact with the color former phase. Particularly, the color former phase can be finely dispersed within the polymeric activator phase at an average particle size of less than 2 μm.

摘要: An apparatus for recording and/or transmitting optical data or visual images includes a recording medium (100) having a substrate (220) and markable coating (230). The apparatus also includes a recording and transmitting device including a light source (150) having at least two separate lasers, and a unified apochromatic lens structure (148) having at least two separate lenses functioning as one structure. The lens structure (148) enables light beams (152) to a) pass therethrough onto the medium (100) with at least two different wavelengths directed to a single spot, so as to cause a localized change in chemical and/or physical properties to form an optically detectable mark (242) in the markable coating (230) and/or b) pass therethrough onto the medium (100) with at least two different wavelengths directed to a single spot, so as to cause an optically detectable mark (242) to reflect the light beams (152). The light beams (152) have radiation different from a wavelength suitable for forming the optically detectable mark (242).

The color forming composition can include a leuco dye, an infrared absorber, and at least one of a stabilizer and an anti-fade agent. The color forming compositions can be stabilized such that less than about a 30% decrease in optical density occurs over a three year period. The stabilizers can include chroman, thiolane-nickel complexes, spiroindanes, while suitable anti-fade agents can include vitamin E, vitamin E analogs, astaxanthin, chroman, ascorbic acid, carotene, and mixtures thereof. The color forming compositions are ambient light stable and are useful in forming images on a wide variety of substrates such as optical disks.

摘要: The invention relates to an improved systems and methods for ink-jet printing which result in images with increased permanence as measured by transfer of black or color from the image when the image is subjected to mechanical and/or chemical abrasion. The invention provides a fusible composition that may be combined with any or all of the black or color inks used to create the image, or it may be used as a colorless fluid applied during pre-, post-, or simultaneous ink-jet ink printing, with the proviso that both the ink-jet ink and the fusible composition be mixed in a liquid form for fusion. The permanence of images produced by the system can be comparable to those produced by electrophotography.
