摘要: Waveguide based displays benefit from gratings which are capable of diffracting both S and P polarized light with high efficiency. While typical surface relief gratings (SRGs) diffract P polarized light efficiently, SRGs do not typically diffract S polarized light efficiently. One class of gratings that diffracts S polarized light with high efficiency is deep SRGs. One approach to producing deep SRGs is holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal (HPDLC) gratings. In producing HPDLC gratings, a reactive monomer mixture is exposed to light in a polymerization process. Reactive monomer mixtures may include co-initiators and photo-initiator dyes. Co-initiators which include liquid amine synergist have been demonstrated to have advantageous results. Further, photo-initiator dyes with high extinction coefficients have demonstrated advantageous results.

摘要: A method of forming a photoresist layer includes: forming alignment electrodes on a base; mixing color QRs and photoresist to form a mixed material; coating the mixed material on the base; applying the base coated with the mixed material with positive and negative voltages so that the long axes of the color QRs align horizontally under the effect of the horizontal electric fields generated by the alignment electrodes; vacuum-drying the base coated with the mixed material to enhance the viscosity of the photoresist; interrupting electricity at a designated point to form a photoresist layer, wherein the long axes of QRs remain aligned horizontally; the color film substrate includes color resist films; when a backlight source emits blue light to the color film substrate, a color filter is disposed on top of the red color film to filtrate the blue light.

摘要: This light-diffusing member includes a light-transmissive substrate, a plurality of wavelength-controlling layers formed on one surface of the light-transmissive substrate, and a light-diffusing portion formed on the one surface of the light-transmissive substrate in a region other than a region where the wavelength-controlling layers are formed. The light-diffusing portion includes a light-emitting end-surface that makes contact with the light-transmissive substrate and a light-incident end-surface that is opposite to the light-emitting end-surface and that has an area greater than an area of the light-emitting end-surface, and is made of a photosensitive resin; a height of the light-diffusing portion from the light-incident end-surface to the light-emitting end-surface is greater than a thickness of the wavelength-controlling layers; and the wavelength-controlling layers have characteristics that an optical absorptance at a first wavelength in a ultraviolet wavelength band is higher than an optical absorptance at a second wavelength in a visible-light wavelength band.
