Abstract:
A variable-pitch boat propeller has a hub centered on and rotatable about a hub axis and formed with a radially out-wardly open pocket having a predetermined inside diameter and centered on a vane axis extending generally radially of the hub axis and a mounting plate rotatable in the pocket about the vane axis and having an outer face. A ring fixed in the pocket and having inner and outer peripheries bears radially inward of the hub axis on the mounting plate. An inner seal is provided between the inner ring periphery and the plate and an outer seal between the outer ring periphery and the pocket. A vane extending along the vane axis has a base of an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the pocket and fitting in the pocket on the face of the plate. A screw or the like releasably secures the vane base to the plate face, and mechanism pivots the plate in the pocket about the vane axis.
Abstract:
A coated article is provided with at least one infrared (IR) reflecting layer. The IR reflecting layer may be of silver or the like. In certain example embodiments, a titanium oxide layer is provided over the IR reflecting layer, and it has been found that this surprisingly results in an IR reflecting layer with a lower specific resistivity (SR) thereby permitting thermal properties of the coated article to be improved.
Abstract:
A method of making a heat treated (HT) substantially transparent coated article to be used in shower door applications, window applications, tabletop applications, or any other suitable applications. Certain embodiments relate to a method of making a coated article including heat treating a glass substrate coated with at least layer of or including carbon (e.g., diamond-like carbon (DLC)) and an overlying protective film thereon. The protective film may be of or include both (a) an oxygen blocking or barrier layer, and (b) a release layer of or including zinc oxynitride (e.g., ZnOxNz). Following and/or during heat treatment (e.g., thermal tempering, or the like) the protective film may be entirely or partially removed.
Abstract:
A locking apparatus for a vehicle seat, particularly for a motor vehicle seat, includes a locking mechanism (23) for mechanically locking a moveable catch (31) of the locking mechanism (23) with a counter element (B), and an actuator device (24, 50) for actuating the catch (31) via a drive. A housing (20) is provided in which the locking mechanism (23) is arranged and housed. Improved safety against injuries of vehicle passengers that occur due to non-locked backseat backrests is provided with a motor-driven device for creating a lock of the locking mechanism (23).
Abstract:
A dispensing device for a dental substance is provided which has an outlet for the dental substance, and a valve for opening and closing the outlet. The device is switchable between a storage mode and an operative mode. In the storage mode a cannula is locked in the device and the valve opens the outlet, and in the storage mode the cannula can be released from the device and the valve closes the outlet. The device may facilitate handling and may be relatively inexpensive.
Abstract:
A locking mechanism (1) for a vehicle seat, particularly for a motor vehicle seat, includes a latch that is to be interlocked with an opposite element (B) and is mounted to be pivotable about a first bearing bolt (13), at least one securing element (25, 31) that secures the latch (11) in the locked state, and a lock housing (5) which supports the latch (11) and the securing element (25, 31). The lock housing (5) has an integrated first stop (5a) for the opposite element (B). The stop (5a) has a damping effect when the opposite element (B) rests against the lock housing (5).
Abstract:
A locking mechanism (1) for a vehicle seat, particularly for a motor vehicle seat, includes a latch (11) that is to be interlocked with an opposite element (B) and is mounted to be pivotable about a first bearing bolt (13), and at least one securing element (25, 31) that secures the latch (11) in the locked state. A cap (17) which rests on the latch (11) covers at least part of the edge of a hook opening of the latch (11).
Abstract:
A locking device for a vehicle seat, in particular for a motor vehicle seat, is provided with a locking mechanism for the mechanical locking of a movable catch of the locking mechanism with a counter-element, and with an actuator unit for the actuation of the catch via a drive. A hosing is provided in which the locking mechanism is arranged and mounted, with regard to the required installation space. The locking device provides the possibility of the formation of structurally different variants of the locking device. The actuator unit (4) is arranged in the housing as a shared housing (2) together with the locking mechanism (3).
Abstract:
A low-E coated article is provided, in certain example embodiments, with a layer including silicon nitride adjacent the glass substrate in order to improve chemical and/or mechanical durability of the coated article. In certain example embodiments, the coated article may be formed so as to have a fairly high visible transmission (TY or Tvis) to sheet resistance (Rs) ratio (i.e., a ratio Tvis/Rs) The higher this ratio, the better the coated article's combined functionality of providing for both good solar performance (e.g., ability to reflect and/or absorb IR radiation) and high visible transmission. Coated articles herein may be used in the context of windows or the like (e.g., laminated vehicle windshields).
Abstract:
In the case of a locking mechanism (1) for a vehicle seat, in particular for a motor vehicle seat, having an open housing (5), a latch (11) which is mounted pivotably on the housing (5) and is intended for locking with a mating element (B), and at least one securing element (25, 31) which is likewise mounted pivotably on the housing (5) and, by interaction with the latch (11), secures a locked state, the locking mechanism (1) is attachable to a structural part (41), and the structural part (41) forms the cover for the substantial closing of the housing (5).
