A system, and method for evaluating, scoring and rationalizing an invention, a set of a plurality of inventions or an Enterprise-wide invention portfolio has been described, based on weighted sustainable characteristics of the said invention(s) gauged against lag and lead capability measures. The said sustainable capability measurements, incorporating maturity quantification across manifold dimensions generates a Capability Sustainability Score of the said invention(s), which is further fed to evaluate an invention by positioning it against its prime market at a given time for a user-defined geography or jurisdiction. The rationalization of an invention can be retrieved by evaluating the said invention(s) for its projected or predicted Life Cycle revealing fields of improvements.

A system for dynamic computing a credible deal price for a deal is adapted to receive a first data set during initializing the deal parameters. The system comprising a plurality of stakeholders inputting their views as a second data set through a presentation layer module. A preliminary information processing module configured to process the first data set and a plurality of pricing models for determining an optimum deal price for the deal using the first & second data set and associated context related therewith. A pricing strategy module configured to process a one or more inputs of the second data set to determine a list price indicator, wherein a list price generator module configured to determine the credible deal price. A deal negotiation module optimizes the credible deal price commensurate with plurality of third data set dynamic associated in time, space and values therewith the deal.

Systems and methods for determining a maturity status of an organization in a technology area are provided. The system comprises a processor and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory comprises a definition module configured to define a Technology Service Maturity Model (TSMM). The TSMM comprises a set of maturity levels indicating at least one of an aspired proficiency level and a current proficiency level of the organization in the technology area. The TSMM further comprises a set of capability attributes for each of the maturity levels. The set of capability attributes comprises at least one of competency, asset, delivery, pre-sales, collaboration, and branding. The system further comprises an assessment module configured to determine the maturity status of the organization in the technology area based upon the set of capability attributes possessed by the organization in the each of the maturity levels.

A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture is configured to define a structured view of data in a computer system. A relational database management system (RDBMS) stores information in the computer system. As part of a process and framework, a series of business rules and process workflows that manage data (that is hierarchical in nature) that resides in one or more RDBMS tables are maintained. User input is accepted that defines a hierarchical structure that is projected onto the data. The hierarchical structure is stored as metadata in the RDBMS. The hierarchical structure is utilized to graphically visualize, manage, and manipulate the data.

A selective distribution messaging scheme for an optical network. According to one embodiment of the invention, a wavelength division multiplexing optical network includes a number of nodes each having an optical cross connect and each having stored therein a database representing conversion free connectivity from that node to others of the nodes. In addition, each of the nodes employs a messaging scheme to propagate notification of changes in the optical network to others of the nodes to maintain their databases. The messaging scheme in each of the nodes transmits messages to only selected ones of the other nodes based at least in part on the conversion free connectivity to minimize the number of communications between nodes.
