    Abstract: A processing device receives an intraoral image of a first intraoral site. The processing device selects a portion of the intraoral image that depicts a portion of the first intraoral site. The processing device locks at least the portion of the intraoral image. The processing device may then generate a model comprising the first intraoral site based at least in part on the locked intraoral image, wherein the portion of the intraoral image is used for a first region of the model, and wherein data from one or more additional intraoral images that also depict the portion of the first intraoral site is not used for the first region of the model.

    Abstract: Improved orthodontic appliances, along with related systems and methods, are provided. In one aspect, an appliance includes a shell having a plurality of cavities shaped to receive teeth, and a discontinuity formed in the shell.     Abstract: An intraoral scanner includes a probe housing disposed at a distal end of an elongate wand. The intraoral scanner further includes a window structure coupled to the probe housing. The window structure and the probe housing form an interior volume. The window structure has a concave transverse cross section.     Abstract: A system includes an intraoral scanner configured to generate intraoral scan data comprising intraoral images of an arch of a patient, and a computing device operatively coupled to the intraoral scanner. The computing device is configured to receive the intraoral scan data comprising the intraoral images of the arch generated during scanning of the arch by the intraoral scanner, a plurality of objects each comprising a surface pattern having been applied onto the arch of the patient prior to the scanning of the arch, wherein at least some of the intraoral images comprise representations of one or more objects of the plurality of objects. The computing device is further configured to generate a three-dimensional (3D) model of the arch using the intraoral images that comprise representations of the one or more objects and output the 3D model to a display.

    Abstract: Improved dental models for use in dental procedures are provided. In one aspect, a unitary dental model of an intraoral cavity of a patient having a dental implant comprises a physical surface representative of gingival tissue of the patient. The model can comprise a channel shaped and oriented to receive an abutment corresponding to a physical abutment to be connected to the dental implant, in which the channel extends to an opening in the physical surface. The channel can comprise a first portion shaped to receive and constrain a corresponding structure of the abutment to a position and orientation and a second portion shaped to receive a fastener to couple the abutment to the unitary dental model. In many embodiments, the first portion comprises a shoulder shaped to receive the corresponding structure of the abutment in order to position the abutment along the channel.

    Abstract: An intraoral device wearable by a patient may include an intraoral device body, a first advancement structure configured to be coupled to a first jaw of the patient. and a second advancement structure configured to be coupled to a second jaw of the patient. The device may also include an intraoral actuator coupled to the first advancement structure to displace a lower jaw of the patient from a first position to a second position. The first position may be a habitual jaw position and the second position may be a modified jaw position. Displacing the lower jaw of the patient may include moving the lower jaw from the habitual jaw position to the modified jaw position based at least in part on data from at least one sensor.
