Abstract:
Methods and systems for implementing a splitter operation in an extract, transform, and load (ETL) process are provided. In one implementation, the method includes receiving a data flow including a splitter operation, and generating an execution plan graph based on the data flow. The execution plan graph includes structured query language (SQL) code for implementing the splitter operation, in which the structured query language (SQL) code is respectively executable among database servers associated with different vendors.
Abstract:
Methods, computer program products, and system for generating code for an extract, transform, and load (ETL) data flow are provided. In one implementation, the method includes receiving an ETL data flow representing a logical transformation and flow of data, placing a staging table at a pre-determined location in the ETL data flow to reduce a total number of staging tables required by the transformation, and generating code for the transformation based on the ETL data flow including the staging table placed at the pre-determined location.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to tracking variable location information in optimized code and efficiently collecting and storing reaching definition information. A computer system receives a portion of source code at a compiler, where the compiler is configured to compile and optimize the source code for execution. The computer system tags selected variables in the source code with a tag, where the tag is configured to provide location information for the variable. The computer system optimizes the received portion of source code including changing at least one of the tagged variables. The computer system also tracks the tagged variables as the variables are changed by the compiler during code optimization and persists the variable location information, so that the persisted variable location information is available to other compiler components.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compounds containing single amino acids, peptides, or derivatives thereof which are selectively delivered to the mitochondria of a cell. Compounds of the invention exhibit antioxidant activity thereby reducing reactive oxygen species in cells. These compounds are useful for inhibiting oxidative stress-induced cell injury or death both in vivo and ex vivo. In addition, methods for the synthesis of these compounds are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for detecting one or more objects on a touch screen, wherein the touch screen has a plurality of transmitters and receivers, comprises the following steps: serializing data signals into a group data signal corresponding to the transmitters and the receivers of the touch screen; transmitting and deserializing the group data signal to the transmitters and the receivers; receiving receiver data indicative of the detection of one or more objects on the touch screen; serializing the receiver data into serialized common data signal; and outputting the common data signal, wherein the common data signal is indicative of the detected objects on the touch screen.
Abstract:
An ion energy analyzer is described for use in diagnosing the ion energy distribution (IED) of ions incident on a radio frequency (RF) biased substrate immersed in plasma. The ion energy analyzer comprises an entrance grid exposed to the plasma, an ion selection grid disposed proximate to the entrance grid, an electron rejection grid disposed proximate to the ion selection grid, and an ion current collector disposed proximate to the electron rejection grid. The ion selection grid is coupled to an ion selection voltage source configured to positively bias the ion selection grid by an ion selection voltage, and the electron rejection grid is coupled to an electron rejection voltage source configured to negatively bias the electron rejection grid by an electron rejection voltage. Furthermore, an ion current meter is coupled to the ion current collector to measure the ion current.
Abstract:
A method is provided for creating a plurality of substantially uniform nano-scale features in a substantially parallel manner in which an array of micro-lenses is positioned on a surface of a substrate, where each micro-lens includes a hole such that the bottom of the hole corresponds to a portion of the surface of the substrate. A flux of charged particles, e.g., a beam of positive ions of a selected element, is applied to the micro-lens array. The flux of charged particles is focused at selected focal points on the substrate surface at the bottoms of the holes of the micro-lens array. The substrate is tilted at one or more selected angles to displace the locations of the focal points across the substrate surface. By depositing material or etching the surface of the substrate, several substantially uniform nanometer sized features may be rapidly created in each hole on the surface of the substrate in a substantially parallel manner.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a mechanism for performing multicast transmission in a cellular network. In order to enable establishment of resources only in cells containing members of the multicast group and to avoid congestion on the uplink channel, a multicast service notification is transmitted to mobile stations, thereby informing members of the multicast group of an upcoming multicast session. The moment for a response to said multicast service notification is selected in the mobile stations and a presence report is sent from at least one of said mobile stations at the response moment of said at least one mobile station. The presence report or reports are received within a radio access network, and radio resources are established for multicast transmission in a cell of the cellular network when the presence report(s) received in said cell meet(s) predetermined criteria.
