    摘要: An apparatus for forming inflated containers includes a film web that includes two juxtaposed film plies, a closed longitudinal edge, an open longitudinal edge, and a series of transverse seals having a first end located at the closed longitudinal edge and a second end terminating a predetermined distance from the open longitudinal edge such that each of the juxtaposed film plies have a section extending beyond the second end of the transverse seals, thereby forming a skirt that extends between adjacent containers at the open longitudinal edge. Such skirt facilitates inflation of each container.

    摘要: A packaging device is disclosed for forming packaging cushions of the type that include a plastic bag filled with a solid foam, and wherein the cushions are initially formed of a plastic bag filled with a foamable material that reacts and then hardens to form solid foam. The device comprises means for advancing a sheet of plastic film material that has been center-folded to form a doubled web with one closed edge defined by the center fold and one open edge defined by the adjacent edges of the sheet. Means are included for injecting a foamable composition into the center-folded web between the two folded portions of the sheet, as are means for forming a substantially linear seal along the open edge and substantially parallel to the open edge to thereby longitudinally seal the open edge of the web. The invention further includes means for periodically interrupting the linear seal to provide an unsealed portion along the otherwise sealed edge, and means for transversely sealing the web after foamable composition has been injected, and for concurrently separating a formed and filled bag from the advanced film material.

    摘要: A quick-acting electric cigar lighter employing a bimetallic disk constituting an electric switching member. The disk is secured in place by a mounting stud, utilizing a welding procedure. The welding does not adversely affect the functioning of the switch due to the provision of a central offset portion in the disk, which tends to relieve stresses on the weld, preventing any failure at that location. The lighter is activated by pushing the igniting unit inward to bring the heating element cup into physical contact with the bimetallic disk. Over-stressing of the bimetallic disk is prevented by mounting the same in a recessed insulating block which has lands that are engaged by the cup after a pre-determined amount of actuation of the plug has occurred. An effective, long-life contact between the cup and the disk is had by the use of special metals which co-act to minimize pitting, deterioration, etc., one metal comprising aluminum which cooperates with other metals such as copper or silver. .Iadd.

A shield is mounted onto the dispenser to prevent any contaminated fluids from splashing onto the care giver. The dispenser can be brought in a sterile condition to the patient free from any separate power supplies or fluid source lines. The stream pressure of the dispenser may be adjustable but it may be set for a substantially constant pressure over the volume of fluid. The dispenser may be used in any orientation and still deliver wound cleansing solution at the selected pressure.

    摘要: An inhalation device in the nature of a metered dose inhaler is designed specifically for existing respiratory drugs to be employed in hospitals and/or by patients at home. The device is constructed of a housing which defines an aerosol chamber for a metered dose of a medicant containing aerosol from a cartridge. The cartridge is supported wholly within the aerosol chamber. An actuating valve mechanism is slidingly receiving within an open end of the housing and includes a projecting portion to which a compressive force may be applied. Upon application of the compressive force, for example, by forcing the open end of the housing against a supporting surface, the outlet valve mechanism of the cartridge is activated to dispense a metered dose of medicant into the aerosol chamber in the form of an aerosol.
