    摘要: Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signals are detected in microtesla fields. Prepolarization in millitesla fields is followed by detection with an untuned de superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer. Because the sensitivity of the SQUID is frequency independent, both signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and spectral resolution are enhanced by detecting the NMR signal in extremely low magnetic fields, where the NMR lines become very narrow even for grossly inhomogeneous measurement fields. MRI in ultralow magnetic field is based on the NMR at ultralow fields. Gradient magnetic fields are applied, and images are constructed from the detected NMR signals.

    摘要: An asymmetric planar gradiometer for use in making biomagnetic measurements. The gradiometer is formed from a magnetometer which is inductively-coupled to the smaller of two connected loops patterned in a superconducting film which form a flux transformer. The magnetometer is based on a SQUID formed from a high T.sub.c superconducting material. The flux transformer and magnetometer may be formed on separate substrates, allowing the baseline to be increased relative to presently available devices.

    摘要: A microelectronic component comprising a crossover is provided comprising a substrate, a first high T.sub.c superconductor thin film, a second insulating thin film comprising SrTiO.sub.3 ; and a third high T.sub.c superconducting film which has strips which crossover one or more areas of the first superconductor film. An insitu method for depositing all three films on a substrate is provided which does not require annealing steps. The photolithographic process is used to separately pattern the high T.sub.c superconductor thin films.

    摘要: A wheel immobilizer has a plurality of C-shaped members extendable about the wheel, including a telescopic member that is lockable in place. A unit connector and a wheel fastener cover are shaped to extend about fasteners of the wheel. The unit connector includes a threaded member and is shaped to enable macro and micro adjustments of the extent to which the wheel fastener cover extends from the C-shaped members. Slots of the unit connector enable the wheel immobilizer to couple together within a plane in a storage position. Projections of the wheel immobilizer inhibit rotation of the wheel and are tuned to make a noise when rotation of the wheel is attempted. An elongate round member is positioned within the telescopic member and configured to inhibit cutting therethrough. C-shaped members are rotatably coupled together via detent mechanisms the tension of which is adjusted via set screws which are externally accessible.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a balloon expandable stent mounted on a balloon catheter, the entire assembly being overcoated with a coherent polymer coating, which is preferably substantially continuous over the circumference and, more preferably, axial length of the stem on the balloon. The polymer coating improves retention of the stent on the balloon during delivery and does not adversely effect the deployment characteristics, nor the balloon failure characteristics. The product is made by mounting the stent on the balloon and coating the assembly with a liquid coating composition containing a suitable polymer followed by curing of the coating. The polymer is biocompatible and preferably crosslinkable in the coating composition, and crosslinked in the final product. A suitable polymer is formed from monomers including a zwitterionic, preferably a phosphoryl choline, group, and monomers including a trialkoxysilyl group. Preferably the coated product is contacted with ethylene oxide to provide simultaneous sterilization and additional curing.

    摘要: A clamp locator for hose assemblies is provided. The clamp locator includes releasable connections for holding hose clamps during assembly of a hose to a hose fitting. The releasable connections comprise generally elastic fingers that hold the clamps to the locator. As the hose clamps are crimped and closed over the hose the clamps are pulled from the fingers and released from the locator. The locator includes a reference locating tab protruding from the body of the locator. The tab corresponds to a reference locating groove in a fitting to which the hose is to be attached. The locator, with clamps attached, is first slid over an end of the hose and the fitting is inserted into the hose end. A ramp on the fitting leads the tab to the groove in the fitting as the fitting is inserted into the hose end. The tab will snap into the groove, indicating that the hose, fitting and clamps are properly aligned. The clamps are then crimped over the hose and the locator released for proper disposal.
