摘要:
A process involving, for example, the admixing of an emulsion latex, a colorant, and a tetra-alkylated quaternary ammonium halide salt complexing agent; and thereafter, heating in sequence about below the Tg of a resin contained in the latex and then heating about above the Tg glass transition temperature of a resin contained in the latex.
摘要:
A toner includes a resin, colorant, and a silicate component bound to the toner. The silicate component can be a water-soluble cationic complex of at least one of tetraalkylammonium and tetraalkylphosphonium. A method for making the toner includes the surface treatment of the toner with a water-soluble silicate.
摘要:
Methods for making toner particles comprising a polyester-wax resin, wherein the polyester-wax resin includes a bio-based oil that is chemically incorporated into the main chain of the polyester resin. The toner particles may be formed using emulsion aggregation methods. A toner formed from the toner particles may be used in low-oil or oil-less fusing systems.
摘要:
Environmentally friendly resin particles are provided which include a monomer having a color, which is able to impart color to the resulting resin. The resulting resin may be used to form various articles, including toner. A toner of the present disclosure may thus include the bio-based polyester resin, optionally in combination with another amorphous resin and/or a crystalline resin. Methods for providing these resins are also provided.
摘要:
A process for making a latex emulsion suitable for use in a toner composition includes contacting at least one crystalline polyester resin with an organic solvent and a stabilizing agent to form a resin mixture, adding a neutralizing agent, and deionized water to the resin mixture, removing the solvent from the formed latex, and continuously recovering latex particles.
摘要:
Disclosed are amorphous polyesters that contain only renewable resources designed for emulsion aggregation toner fabrication. The amorphous polyesters may be obtained from the mixture of three different monomers: 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbitol (isosorbide), nonanedioic acid (azelaic acid), and butanedioic acid (succinic acid). Different polymer properties may be achieved depending on the ratio of these three monomers. By altering the ratio, polymers of high to low acid value can be obtained, as well as different ranges of glass transition temperatures.
摘要:
Pigment particles with at least one metal oxide surface additive, wherein the at least one metal oxide surface additive is a metal oxide particle covalently bonded with at least one polycondensation polymer, wherein the pigment particle is a pearlescent or metallic pigment.
摘要:
Toners made by the emulsion aggregation process comprising an amorphous resin and a nucleated crystalline resin. Such toners demonstrate improved charging performance in the A-zone and the C-zone, improved heat cohesion and improved resistivity.
摘要:
Toner particles and a dry-powder electrophoretic display employing such particles are disclosed herein. The toner particles adapted for a dry-powder electrophoretic display comprise emulsion/aggregation particles having a negative charge. At least a portion of the toner particles include a surface coating, comprising a methacrylate polymer, disposed on the surface of the toner particles to impart a positive charge to a set of toner particles. The emulsion/aggregation toner particles have a particle size generally less than about 10 micrometers that allows for improved image quality as compared to conventional toners utilized in dry-powder electrophoretic displays.
