摘要: There is provided a system always capable of detecting AE/ultrasound received by an FBG, even when the FBG receives a change in temperature or strain and the Bragg wavelength is fluctuated. In the AE/ultrasound detection system, the reflected light from the FBG is caused to enter a Fabry-Perot filter having an FSR equal to or greater than the reflection wavelength band of the FBG. A change in the intensity of the transmitted light corresponds to the AE/ultrasound received by the FBG. Alternatively, the reflected light from FBG is caused to enter two Fabry-Perot filters having an FSR equal to or greater than the reflection wavelength band of the FBG and having the filter-transmittance peak wavelengths different from each other by FSR/4. The intensity of the transmitted light from each of the two Fabry-Perot filters is converted into a voltage signal, and the individual signals are subjected to addition and subtraction processes. Thus, a signal having a large amplitude corresponding to the AE/ultrasound received by the FBG can be obtained.

摘要: A hot topic extraction apparatus for extracting a hot topic from information includes an information collection unit, an information storage unit, and a hot topic extraction unit. The information collection unit collects a document from an information source. The information storage unit stores collected information. The hot topic extraction unit extracts a document from the information storage unit while the information collection unit collects the document, and retrieves a document from the retrieved document, thereby extracting a hot topic from information contained in various information sources, not extracting a hot topic from a given document.

摘要: An a lane departure prevention system is described having a position detector for detecting positional information of a vehicle with respect to a lane of travel. A determining unit is included for comparing the positional information with a first threshold value indicating a predetermined positional relation with respect to the lane of travel, and for determining a tendency of the vehicle to depart from the lane of travel on the basis of a comparison result. At least one control is selectively adjusted when the determining unit determines that the vehicle is tending to depart from the lane of travel. The at least one control is selectively delayed or selectively reduced as a result of a proximate predetermined physical object.

摘要: A document collection apparatus collects a document for a community from a network. Before starting the collection, an initial document group is given as a starting point of the collection. A reference extraction unit extracts a reference from the initial document group. A next prospect determination unit determines a prospect which is a prospective document to be collected next. A document collection unit collects the prospect to be collected next, and adds it to the collected documents. The document collection unit first collects documents evenly from inside the community in the network, and then the next prospect determination unit determines the prospect to be collected next from inside and outside the community.

摘要: An information retrieval terminal provides keywords to an information retrieval device and instructs it to retrieve by using such keywords. The information retrieval terminal includes an information collector for collecting screen information, image information, and voice information around the information retrieval terminal and for obtaining text information from the collected information. A keyword-candidate extracting unit extracts a word related to a retrieval word input by a retriever from the text information obtained by the information collector, and sets the extracted word to be a keyword candidate. A retrieval instructing unit gives an instruction to retrieve by using the retrieval word and the keyword candidate set by the keyword-candidate extracting unit as keywords.

摘要: In a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device having a first conductive layer of a first conductive type and a second conductive layer of a second conductive type opposite to the first conductive type, an intermediate layer of a predetermined element selected from the group V is formed on the first and second conductive layers to a preselected thickness of several atomic layers. Next, a metal film is deposited on the intermediate film. The intermediate layer is absorbed in the metal film and vanishes during the deposition of the metal film. The metal film may be formed of tungsten or molybdenum, while the thickness of the intermediate layer may be equal to one or two atomic layers.

摘要: A bird's eye view commonly used in a flight simulation is applicable to an apparatus and method for navigating a vehicle running on a set route of travel to a set destination using a (color) display unit according to the present invention. The bird's eye view of a road map surrounding a present position of the vehicle has a viewing point placed at a predetermined position on an upper sky in a direction opposite to the set destination with the present position of the vehicle as a reference and has a line of sight looking down over the road map so that a part of the road map surrounding the present position of the vehicle can be viewed in an extended scale form and the remaining part of the road map remote from the present position and nearer to the set destination can be viewed in a gradually reduction scale form.
