摘要: An automatic focus adjustment camera in which a photo-taking lens is step-driven to one of a plurality of set positions, depending upon measurement of object distance, employs aperture adjustment or adjustment of object distance to improve resolution of images. The total focusing distance range of the photo-taking lens is divided into successive object distance ranges, and the center of each object distance range corresponds to one of the set positions of the photo-taking lens. The amount of adjustment to improve resolution is determined by the extent to which the measured object distance differs from the center of the object distance range that includes the measured object distance. In a portrait photography mode the aperture diameter is made large enough to ensure blurring of background while obtaining a sharp object image.

摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling an operation of a camera is so structured that when a first process for performing a pre-focusing process and the like and a third process for performing light-metering process, exposure control process and the like after auto-focus control are executed under the program control of a microcomputer, and a second process for performing the auto-focus control is executed between the first and third processes, the operation of the microcomputer is interrupted by cutting off power supply thereto or applying an operation stop signal to a reset terminal thereof after the first process, and the second process is then executed. After second process is completed, the microcomputer is restarted and, after it discriminates the completion of the second process, the third process is executed. In this way, since the first and third processes based on the program control are executed in a time-serial manner, they are no longer adversely influenced by the second process. Furthermore, when the microcomputer is restarted, the third process is executed after it discriminates the completion of the second process. Therefore, even if the program control is interrupted, the computer program control sequence can be executed.

摘要: A flash device for photography includes a DC/DC converter for boosting a DC power source voltage and applying a voltage to a main capacitor for supplying an energy for driving a flashlight tube. The converter has control means operative in response to the trigger operation by a start operating switch to detect any reduction in the charging current of the main capacitor and stop said operation. The flash device is provided with another switch means for enabling the operation of the converter independently of the start operating switch. Said another switch means is operative to operate the converter until the charging voltage of the main capacitor reaches a sufficient value to drive the flashlight tube.

摘要: A camera comprises a photographic information output circuit section, a CPU, a PPM signal conversion circuit section, a drive section for a plurality of magnetic heads, and a film feeding section. The CPU converts several parallel data items which are output from the photographic information output circuit section into a single serial data item and outputs it to the PPM signal conversion circuit section provided separately from the CPU. The PPM signal conversion circuit section converts this single serial data item into several PPM signals, and then supplies the PPM signals to the magnetic head drive section.

摘要: The present invention is applicable to a camera capable of reading in film specific information recorded by means of a bar code. This film specific information is inscribed upon a display portion which rotates together with the forwarding of a film stored within a cartridge. The camera includes: a photointerruptor which optically reads the bar code on the bar code display portion as the bar code display portion rotates together with the forwarding of the film, and which outputs as an electrical signal of the result thus read; a comparator which compares the output signal from the photointerruptor with a threshold level; a calculation device for calculating a standard value for setting the threshold level based upon the output signal from the photointerruptor; a reference value control device which controls the threshold level according to the standard value; and a determination device which determines the film specific information based upon the output of the comparator.
