A customer subscribes to the system and provides contextual data such as demographic data, a shopping list and specific personal dates, such as wedding anniversary, or birthday. The system also conducts analysis of internet activity to determine smart needs of the customer. The system then provides contextual offers to the subscribed customer for products based on the contextual data. These offers may be a combined contextual offer, having two or more products from two or more of the plurality of merchants. In addition, a contextual offer may be a proximity contextual offer that is provided to the subscribed customer when they move close to the geographical region of the plurality of merchants.

The present disclosure describes a meta-application framework that enables data to be associated with a class of applications called a meta-application. A meta-application entity may store attributes in common across multiple platforms. A platform entity may store attributes in common across multiple devices and/or operating systems. A device entity may be comprised by a particular set of hardware features and an operating system entity may be comprised of a particular set of software feature. Data associated with the meta-application framework may be accessed directly via data manipulation operations or alternatively by application operations via an application programming interface or via the aforementioned data manipulation operations. Applications may then identify application specific behavior at the appropriate level of detail.

Specific DNA ligand sequences for binding various arthropod-borne pathogens including arboviruses, rickettsia and parasites are described. Each of these sequences or their linear, two- and three-dimensional linked sequences can function in varying assay and sensor formats with varying degrees of success. Linkage of the whole or partial DNA sequences (putative binding sites) can be used to enhance specificity and affinity towards complex targets, thereby improving assay selectivity and sensitivity in many instances. In addition, the DNA sequences may bind and neutralize or prevent infection from arthropod-borne viruses, rickettsia and Leishmania or other parasites.

Methods are described for the production and use of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based competitive displacement aptamer assay formats. The assay schemes involve FRET in which the analyte (target) is quencher (Q)-labeled and previously bound by a fluorophore (F)-labeled aptamer such that when unlabeled analyte is added to the system and excited by specific wavelengths of light, the fluorescence intensity of the system changes in proportion to the amount of unlabeled analyte added. Alternatively, the aptamer can be Q-labeled and previously bound to an F-labeled analyte so that when unlabeled analyte enters the system, the fluorescence intensity also changes in proportion to the amount of unlabeled analyte. The F or Q is covalently linked to nucleotide triphosphates (NTPs), which are incorporated into the aptamer by various nucleic acid polymerases, such as Taq or Deep Vent Exo− during PCR or asymmetric PCR, and then selected by affinity chromatography, size-exclusion, and fluorescence techniques.

Dynamic, asymmetric rings and related communication equipment and methods are disclosed. Various features may be implemented to provide any or all of several degrees of freedom for managing resources in a communication network. Communication rates may be optimized on a node-to-node basis or overall on a network level. Different rates may be configured and possibly dynamically adjusted between different nodes, and/or for different directions of traffic transfer. Bandwidth can be dynamically allocated along a string of the communication nodes in a ring or linear topology in some embodiments. Direction of traffic transfer represents an additional possible degree of freedom in a ring topology, in that traffic can be transferred in either direction in a ring, such as the direction of least delay.

A power adjustment circuit includes memory controller logic that is couplable to system memory or other memory if desired. The memory control logic is operative to provide a variable memory clock signal to the system memory and to place the system memory in a self refresh mode wherein the self refresh mode does not require a memory clock signal. Thereafter, the memory clock control logic adjusts the frequency of the memory clock signal to a lower (or higher) frequency clock signal, and in response to the frequency of the memory clock signal becoming stable, the memory clock control logic restores the memory to a normal mode using the lower adjusted frequency memory clock signal. As such, a dynamic memory clock switching mechanism is employed for quickly varying the frequency of memory modules for discrete graphics processors, graphics processors integrated on a chip, or any other processors such that the memory clock can be reduced to a lower frequency in real time to save power.
