摘要:
A liquid for contact lenses, containing at least one of a polymer (A) having a recurring unit (a) represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein n is 0 or 1 and a recurring unit (b) represented by the formula (II): ##STR2## wherein m is 0 or 1, and a salt of the polymer (A). The liquid for contact lenses can extremely decrease variation of base curve of a contact lens during preservation and shipping, and shows excellent antiseptic effect and excellent antibacterial effect.

In an automatic winder comprising plural winding units, a preset yarn quantity per lot and a residual quantity of yarn to be taken up are grasped upon generation of a full-loaded signal, then the number of operating winding units is decreased gradually, allowing operation of only winding unit or units of a number corresponding to the residual quantity of yarn to be taken up.
摘要:
A water-absorptive contact lens made of a copolymer comprising units of an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid and at least one saccharide selected from D-galactose, D-glucose and D-mannose and units of at least one member selected from a hydrophilic monomer and a hydrophobic monomer, which has excellent oxygen permeability and affinity for the eye and can be worn continuously for a long period of time. The contact lens is prepared by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid with a ketalized saccharide and a hydrophilic monomer and/or a hydrophobic monomer, and after forming the resulting copolymer into a contact lens, if necessary, treating the copolymer having a shape of contact lens with an acid to convert the ketal groups into hydroxyl groups.
