For offline print, the image data of a document prepared in an external computer and output control data are stored into the memory card. By installing this memory card in the digital copying machine, the digital copying machine prints the image data read out from the memory card offline in a desired output form. For offline image input, read control data obtained by using an image scanner such as a read gradation level, a read size, density, and the degree of edge enhancement is stored in the removable memory card using software executed in an external computer. By installing this storage medium in the digital copying machine and setting an original to be read in the digital copying machine, the original image is read according to the read control data stored in the memory card, and the obtained image data is stored into the memory card.

An authorization code inputting element reads in an authorization code from an authorization medium on which a particular authorization code is recorded and a user identification inputting element inputs user identification information including the individual user authorization number issued at the time of the user being registered. A user control element controls the users by the authorization code and the user identification information, and a function-limiting element limits the scope of functions that can be used by the user in case the user can not be identified by the inputted authorization code or the inputted user identification information. Thus, the storing of image data by an unidentified user can be blocked, and the confidentiality of stored imaged data can be secured.

    摘要: In a facsimile apparatus with a printer function, a facsimile receiver receives facsimile image data which is encoded according to a predetermined first facsimile coding method and is transmitted from a further facsimile apparatus of the other party, and a host interface interfaces the facsimile apparatus with an external computer and receives facsimile image data which is encoded according to a predetermined second facsimile coding method and is transmitted from the external computer. Further, a decoder decodes the received facsimile image data into image data, and a printer forms an image of the image data on a paper in response to the decoded image data. Furthermore, a MODEM is provided having a facsimile MODEM mode and a data communication MODEM mode which is switched over therebetween in response to command data transmitted from the external computer through a host interface. In the facsimile MODEM mode, the MODEM modulates a carrier signal according to facsimile image data and demodulates a modulated carrier signal according to facsimile image data received from the external computer. In the data communication MODEM mode, the MODEM modulates a carrier signal according to digital data received from the external computer and demodulates a modulated carrier signal according to digital data.

    摘要: A digital color copying machine improves the quality of an image of black characters by reproducing them with only black toner and prevents the edges of each black character from being colored with a color. The machine includes a monochromatic signal generator for generating a monochromatic signal in response to inputted plural color signals and an edge emphasizer for emphasizing edge components of the color signals with a predetermined edge emphasis amount. Either a digitizer for digitizing the monochromatic signal and outputting a binary signal of the monochromatic signal or a pseudo digitizer for generating a pseudo binary signal by steepening the contrast of the monochromatic signal is provided. A first area detector, second area detector, and third area detector are respectively provided for detecting first through third image areas. A first reproducer, second reproducer, and third reproducer are respectively provided for reproducing, in response to the binary signal, the color document image included in the first through third image areas detected by the first through third area detectors. A zoomer may be provided along with the pseudo digitizer, these zoomer performing a zooming process for the edge emphasis image signal with a predetermined zooming ratio such that the pseudo digitizer generates a pseudo binary signal by steepening the contrast of the monochromatic signal with a contrast conversion characteristic determined according to the zooming ratio.
