Abstract:
When a print instruction is made by a user who is watching a digital television or the like, a printer makes a send request for print data necessary for printing the first page to a set top box (STB) and receives “Sample.bml” from the STB. Next, the printer refers to the contents written in “Sample. bml”, and specifies image data whose vertical and horizontal sizes are unknown. Next, the printer makes a send request for the vertical and horizontal sizes of an image data whose vertical and horizontal sizes are unknown (such as “B.jpg”) to the STB, and receives the vertical and horizontal sizes from the STB. Further, the printer obtains actual image data from the STB after performing the layout for printing based on the received vertical and horizontal sizes and executes printing page by page.
Abstract:
An image information processor has an image superimposing and outputting means for printing out a superimposed image where a bar code representative of a storage location of an electronic document file received through a facsimile is superimposed on the first page of the electronic document file. When a necessary electronic document file is read out, the bar code is read from the printed output corresponding to the necessary electronic document file being set by the user, the storage location of the electronic document file is decrypted from the bar code to thereby identify and read out the electronic document file. In this case, the reading of the bar code is performed only when a permitted password is inputted by the user. The readout of the electronic document file is not performed otherwise.
Abstract:
A digital copier includes an image reading part and a printing part. The image reading part includes reading means for electrically scanning lines of image information of a document in a primary scanning direction at a predetermined cycle to output image signals for the lines; secondary scanning means for mechanically moving a primary scanning position with respect to the document at a constant secondary scanning speed V in a secondary scanning direction perpendicular to the primary scanning direction; and line thinning means for thinning out lines for the image signals to 1/N where N is an integer. The printing part prints an image on a printing medium based on the image signals supplied from the image reading part. The lines of image information of the document are copied at an arbitrary zoom ratio in the secondary scanning direction by combining a value of the integer N and a value of the secondary scanning speed V.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a producer of content who associates information for print control with the content such as a picture, before delivery. Specifically, a digital broadcast receiving device receives this content delivery, and the content is decoded by a data decoding unit via a broadcast receiving unit. A controlling unit judges print control information registered in association with the decoded content, performs image processing in accordance with this print control information, and transmits data for printing to a printing device. The printing device performs printing according to the received data for printing.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a print system that can avoid the case where a sheet of photo paper is wastefully used in printing. When an instruction from a user includes an instruction specific to photo printing (an instruction to use a sheet of photo paper, for example) (S203), a host apparatus appends a tag indicating “photo printing” to print content to be transmitted to a printer (S206). When the printer receives the print content from the host apparatus (S251) and the image data included in the received print content cannot be used for the printing (S252: Yes), the printer changes the details of the printing operation as appropriate (S254, S255, and S256) on the basis of the presence or absence of the appended tag (S253), thereby avoiding the case where a sheet of photo paper is wasted.
Abstract:
In a print system in which without requiring a standardized command indicating use of a thumbnail image, and without causing an abnormal operation, a print content transmission device can direct a print device to use the thumbnail image, print content is described using XML format, and a direction command is described using XML format in the print content. In other words, in a step S201, a processing control unit (111) proceeds to a step S202 in the case where there is input from a user I/F unit. In the step S202, a unique information addition unit (104) judges whether or not the thumbnail image should be used for printing. In the case where it is judged that the thumbnail image should be used (S202: Yes), the unique information addition unit (104) directs a print content generation unit (108) to add, to the print content, a direction to use the thumbnail image (step S203).
Abstract:
An image data distribution system wherein an image server has information on destination group formed of members selected from among a plurality of image communication apparatuses. The information is memorized on a storage memory and the image data will be sent out to the respective members of the destination group specified by the destination information. In this image data distribution system, the distribution managing element sends all the distribution destination group names to a digital combination unit when a request for registration with a group is received from input manipulation element provided in the digital combination unit and registers the digital combination unit with a specified distribution destination group when the distribution destination group is specified by the digital combination unit.
