Abstract:
A method for route selection policy (URSP) rule matching supporting redundant PDU session is proposed. When an application is executed, the upper layer of a UE sends the application information to URSP entity for matching a URSP rule. The UE selects and evaluates a route selection descriptor (RSD) from a list of RSDs of a selected URSP rule to be matched with a PDU session. If there is a “PDU session pair ID type” or “RSN type” route selection descriptor component in an RSD, and there is also “multi-access preference type” descriptor component, or a “preferred access type” descriptor component set to “non-3GPP access” in the same RSD, UE ignores the RSD since it is invalid for a redundant PDU session.
Abstract:
Solutions are proposed to facilitate the support of 3GPP PS_Data_Off feature. The PS_Data_Off feature prevents transport via 3GPP access of all IP packets except those related to 3GPP PS_Data_Off Exempt Services. In one example, signaling storms due to frequent PS_Data_Off reconfiguration are prevented. In another example, for multi-SIM devices and for devices that supporting WiFi access, UE reconfigures the PS_Data_Off feature upon a triggering condition is satisfied. In yet another example, upon status change of PS_Data_Off feature, UE initiates RAT change to improve performance, to reduce power consumption and cost, and to maintain service continuity. Furthermore, new AT commands and parameters are introduced to enable the PS_Data_Off feature.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided to reduce service interruption for intra-RAT and inter-RAT handover procedures. The UE performs a NAS signaling procedure via a NAS signaling connection in a mobile communication network. The UE monitors a radio resource status and determines whether a radio bearer has been or is being established for a RRC connection for data transmission. The UE determines whether to release the NAS signaling connection after completing the NAS signaling procedure based on whether the radio bearer has been established. In one embodiment, the UE monitors a radio resource status and determines whether a radio bearer has been established for a RRC connection for data transmission. The UE determines whether to start a timer upon completing the NAS signaling procedure based on whether the radio bearer has been or is being established.
Abstract:
AT commands are used for controlling Mobile Termination (MT) functions and GSM/UMTS network services from a Terminal Equipment (TE) through Terminal Adaptor (TA). 3GPP introduces multiple backoff timers and barring to solve network congestion problem. However, a TE does not know the timer value and the barring status. In accordance with one novel aspect, a new AT command interface that can respond timer value and barring status to the TE is proposed. It reduces wasteful retries and saves power consumption of the TE. Through the new AT command interface, the TE can query backoff timer status. Via unsolicited result code (URC), the MT can detect backoff timer status change and report updated backoff timer status to the TE.
Abstract:
DHCP methods adopted by a slave device connected to a host device are disclosed. The method includes: receiving a DHCP discover message from the host device; in response to the DHCP discover message, transmitting a DHCP offer message containing a DHCP renewal time configuration to the host device; receiving a DHCP request message from the host device; and in response to the DHCP request message, transmitting a DHCP acknowledgement message containing a client Internet Protocol (IP) address and the DHCP renewal time configuration to the host device.
Abstract:
A mobile communications device, operating as a Mobile Terminal (MT), is provided. In the mobile communications device, a receiver is configured to receive a Router Advertisement from a service network, a processor is configured to set an O-Flag of the Router Advertisement to 1 when the O-Flag of the Router Advertisement from the service network is set to 0, and a transmitter is configured to transmit the Router Advertisement to a Terminal Equipment (TE), wherein the TE transmits a DHCPv6 INFORMATION-REQUEST message to the MT when the TE receives the Router Advertisement.
Abstract:
A method to establish and activate an MA PDU session for data transmission over a selected access is proposed. UE initiates a UE-requested PDU session establishment procedure. Once the UE receives a PDU SESSION ESTABLISHMENT ACCEPT message with ATSSS container IE, the UE can consider the MA PDU session has been activated and user plane resources are successfully established on the selected access. A method to convert an SA PDU session to an MA PDU session for data transmission over a selected access is proposed. UE initiates a UE-requested PDU session modification procedure. Once the UE receives a PDU SESSION MODIFICATION COMMAND message with ATSSS container IE, the UE can consider the MA PDU session has been converted from the SA PDU session and user plane resources are successfully established on the selected access.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing User Equipment (UE) handling of UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules selection is provided. A UE initiates to send a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) of an application to a mobile communication network. The UE determines that it has no URSP signaled from the mobile communication network. In response to there being pre-configured URSP rules of a Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) in a Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM), the UE uses only the pre-configured URSP rules of the HPLMN in the USIM to derive configuration of a PDU session via which to send the PDU of the application.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing User Equipment (UE) handling in a limited service state over non-Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) access is provided. A UE sends a REGISTRATION REQUEST message or a SERVICE REQUEST message to a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) over non-3GPP access. The UE receives a REGISTRATION REJECT message or a SERVICE REJECT message from the PLMN over non-3GPP access. In particular, the REGISTRATION REJECT message or the SERVICE REJECT message indicates serving network not authorized. In response to the reception of the REGISTRATION REJECT message or the SERVICE REJECT message which indicates serving network not authorized, the UE enters a limited service state and performs a non-3GPP access network selection.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses. The method can include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), system information broadcast from one or more base stations which may be shared by one or more PLMNs and/or one or more SNPNs, the system information including an indication of whether accessing an SNPN using home service provider (HSP) subscription of a HSP network is supported. The UE can be configured with subscription information of the HSP network. The subscription information can include the HSP subscription and a selection list that includes one or more candidate networks each represented by an SNPN identifier. The method can further include responsive to the system information, selecting a network from the selection list according to a priority order of the candidate networks, and accessing the network selected from the selection list using the HSP subscription.
