摘要: A novel textile fabric comprised of pile-like yarns in which individual component yarns, at least one of which is texturized, comprising individual pile-like yarns have different shrinkage characteristics, and a method for making and patterning such fabrics. Upon the application of a shrinkage agent (e.g., heated air streams), either uniformly or selectively to the pile surface, the individual component yarns shrink to different degrees. By shrinking the relatively high shrinkage component yarns more than the adjacent relatively low shrinkage component yarns, the visual exposure of the relatively low shrinkage yarns is increased, and the visual contribution of the aesthetic qualities (e.g., color, light reflectivity, etc.) of such low shrinkage yarns is enhanced.

摘要: A knit fabric wherein at least a portion of the interconnected yarn loops are formed from segments of a common yarn of multi-filament construction. In the fabric the common yarn includes a first group of yarn segments having a first average cross-sectional filament area and at least a second group of yarn segments having a second average cross-sectional filament area. The second average cross-sectional filament area is greater than the first average cross-sectional filament area. The average level of crystalline orientation of the first group of yarn segments is greater than the average level of crystalline orientation of the second group of yarn segments.

摘要: A pile fabric may be employed in automotive, furniture upholstery and other applications. Pile surfaces on such fabrics may be provided in tufts, or collections of fiber bundles, arranged in rows upon a base portion. Fabrics and methods of making fabrics which minimize the average amount of void space between respective tufts or rows are disclosed. Fabrics which provide more effective overall fabric coverage upon base portions of the fabric are described. A method of “heat shocking” fibers during the drawing of said fibers to pre-stress the fiber and thereby produce a fabric having greater bloom or bulk is disclosed. Providing differential heat history to predetermined portions of the fiber may be a suitable manner of obtaining a fiber which can be used to form a fabric having greater bulk.

摘要: A device for compressing tires and other compressible items in a shipping container comprises a support frame 22 attached to the lift end of a forklift. A fixture 20 is attached to and moves vertically with the support frame. The fixture comprises a horizontal compression platen 30. A vertical pusher plate 50 extends above and below the platen. The upper pusher plate 53, which is above the platen, can fold down so that the platen can be brought near the ceiling of a shipping container above a stack of tires. The fixture weighs enough to compress tires stacked below the compression platen. Additional tires are stacked above the platen and compressed tires. The upper pusher plate is then folded up, against the tires. Two hydraulic cylinders push the pusher plate away from the support frame to pull the platen from between the tires.

摘要: An anti-lock brake control system comprises at least two micro-computers and at least two input/output circuits which monitor one another as well as functions of other components of the anti-lock brake control system. If faulty voltages appear within the anti-lock brake control system or if false values in transmitted signals occur, the anti-lock brake control system will be dependably shut down. By integrating a plurality of monitoring functions in the input/output circuits as well as by building redundancies into the anti-lock brake control system, a high level of safety is achieved, in spite of the small number of necessary components and the small production cost associated therewith.

摘要: In an apparatus for treating dental materials with radiation of a selected spectral range, a receptacle accommodating the material to be treated is surrounded by one or a plurality of fluorescent tubes. The maximum emission of the fluorescent tubes is about 460 nm. The receptacle which accommodates the dental material during the irradiation process is preferably hermetically sealed and is made of a material that is transparent to the radiation.

摘要: An apparatus for treating, particularly bleaching, dental objects, such as dentures or parts thereof, made of synthetic material includes a support disposed in a drawer for receiving the objects and a lamp disposed above the drawer for emitting radiation in a spectral range (approximately 400 to 500 nm) suitable for the bleaching process. An upper reflector surrounding the lamp reflects from the total radiation emitted by the lamp mainly the portion lying within the said spectral range while it transmits the remaining radiation to the outside. An inner surface of the drawer forms a lower reflector. The support also consists of reflective material and has a central semi-spherical projection to ensure that the object positioned on the support so as to surround the projection is irradiated from all sides. In another embodiment, the support for the dental object is made of glass, and two lamps each surrounded by a reflector are used to irradiate the object from above and below. In this case, the upper lamp and reflector are disposed to emit light in a substantially horizontal direction, and a mirror is disposed above the support to re-direct the irradiation towards the object. The mirror is mounted on a lid which is removable to allow easy access to the support. The support may be disposed in a vacuum-tight chamber connected to a vacuum pump.
