摘要: An intervehicle distance control system for a vehicle which, when there exists a possibility of collision between the vehicle and an interfering object ahead thereof, generates a control signal and imparts to a vehicle accelerator member an operation reaction force corresponding to the control signal. The driver is thereby alerted as to a possibility of collision, while the selection of acceleration operation is substantially entrusted to the driver. In the absence of such control signal, the reaction force has a strength of substantially zero. Regardless of the vehicle speed, the driver will never suffer from a metal burden due to operation of the control system.

摘要: A transmission apparatus for a vehicle comprising a casing, an input shaft, an output shaft parallel to the input shaft having at least four gear trains interposed between the two shafts through respective clutches, at least one of the respective clutches being an in-common clutch used in common to two of the at least four gear trains, and at least one selection mechanism provided separately from the common clutch. The two gear trains are those differentiated in change speed stage one from another by three stages. The two gear trains are arranged so that in the case of power transmission through any selected gear train other than the two gear trains, such one of the two gear trains that has a change speed stage nearer the change speed stage of the selected gear train has been selected by the selection mechanism.

摘要: A high sensitive and stable blood leak detector suitable for use with artificial kidneys. The detector has an optical portion comprising a measurement cell through which dialysis solution under test passes, an alternately energized pair of light-emitting diodes positioned on one side of the cell, and a photo sensitive detector positioned at the opposite side of the cell and close thereto. One light-emitting diode emits radiation at longer wavelengths, and the other at shorter wavelengths. Both the diodes are adjusted to produce photo detecting signals at the same level when no blood exists in the cell. The photo detecting signals at the photosensitive detector are detected and analyzed to give signals deflected in one direction in proportion to the degree of blood leak when it has occurred. When bubbles are detected, they give signals in the opposite direction, based on the fact that blood absorbs light mainly at shorter wavelengths while bubbles scatter light mainly at longer wavelengths.

摘要: A power steering apparatus for a vehicle comprising a center open type changeover valve which, on turning of a steering shaft, is moved to be changed over from a neutral straight running position to either of left and right steering positions so that an oil supply passage connected to an operation oil pressure source and an oil discharge passage connected to a return tank are selectively and respectively connected to the left and right chambers of a power cylinder. On one side of the changeover valve is at least one oil pressure reaction chamber which is connected through an oil passage to the oil supply passage to urge the changeover valve to return to its neutral straight running position on the changeover movement of the changeover valve in either direction. The operation oil pressure source is so constructed to provide increased delivery amount according to increase of vehicle speed. A throttle is interposed in the oil supply passage downstream of the connecting point of the oil supply passage with the oil passage to the reaction chamber.

摘要: Power steering apparatus comprising a displaceable changeover value operated in one direction or the other by turning of a steering shaft so that an oil supply passage connected to an oil pressure pump is placed into communication with either a right chamber or a left chamber of a power cylinder. At least one external oil pressure reaction chamber is arranged to be reduced in volume by the operation in either direction of the changeover valve, the oil pressure reaction chamber being in communication through a first throttle with the oil supply passage and through a second throttle with an exterior oil tank. At least one of the two throttles is variable in size in proportion to vehicle speed so that the ratio of the area of opening of the first throttle relative to the second throttle can be increased according to increase of vehicle speed.

摘要: A variety of open-air noise cancellation systems are disclosed. The systems are configured to suit the needs of the particular application, for example, an open-air sound wall installation, an open-air enclosure for a quiet area, or a window/door treatment application. A particular system may a digital-based processing architecture having a digital power amplifier that shares a common circuit board. The processing architecture receives noise signals, processes out-of-phase noise cancellation signals in response to the noise signals, and generates out-of-phase sound waves that effectively cancel low frequency components of the noise signal. One system variation utilizes passive sound absorbing blades or shutters to reduce high frequency components of the noise signal. The blades can be installed as a door or window shutter mechanism.

摘要: A system for controlling locomotion of a legged mobile robot walking in a working space. The system is provided with optical detects which are disposed in a line array at the both sides of a foot member of the robot. On the other hand, a landmark is provided in the working space. The landmark comprises of a line or an arc which divides the space into two regions with different attributes, i.e. different in brightness. The optical detectors generate different signals depending on the brightness. With the generated signals, a relative position of the robot to the landmark is detected. Moreover, when the landmark is an arc, its center is located in line with a work for the robot. a relative direction of the robot to the landmark or the work is detected. Based on the detection, locomotion of the robot is controlled in such a manner that the robot can stably ascend/descent stairs or spiral staircases.
