摘要: The present invention provides novel osmium-based electrochemical species for the detection of wide variety of analytes using immunological techniques. The present invention also provides diagnostic kits and test sensors supporting electrode structures that can be used with the osmium-based electrochemical species. The test sensor can be fabricated to support interdigitated arrays of electrodes that have been designed to provide amplification of the electrical signal amplification desired to analyze analytes that may be present at low concentrations.

摘要: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system and methods for minimizing risk factors that contribute to the development of vascular graft disease and vascular graft failure. In one embodiment, a microarray-based gene expression analysis may be employed to select pre-implanted vessel candidates suitable as grafts in various vascular transplantation procedures. By using a microarray that includes a set of probe sequences that statistically correlate with vascular graft disease, mRNA expression levels of vascular-graft-disease-related genes within vessel-graft candidates can be determined to produce an expression profile for each vessel tested. Such molecular profile of genes related to various forms of vascular graft disease enables clinicians to select a vessel graft having the lowest probability of developing vascular graft diseases, and having the highest probability of maintaining adequate patency rate. Various types of arteries and veins may be discriminated from one another based on their respective gene expression profiles.

摘要: A plastic shell heater utilizing multiple deflectors and vents at the top of interior of a portable heater to direct the heat away from the surface of the heater. This dramatically lowers the temperature of the external surfaces of the heater and allows the use of plastic as the material for the shell of the heater and also allows the use of heat sensitive electronic control panel for the heater.

摘要: A heater including a housing, a heating assembly having a burner, and at least one of an oxygen level detection assembly adapted to distinguish between a relatively normal oxygen level, a relatively low oxygen level and relatively unsafe oxygen, a carbon monoxide sensor and a combustible gas sensor. The heater may also include an indicator adapted to produce at least one of an audible indication and a visible indication in response to a detection of a relatively low oxygen level, a detection of a predetermined level of carbon monoxide, or a detection of combustible gas.

摘要: A heating assembly can include a switching valve which can include certain pressure sensitive features. These features can be configured to change from a first position to a second position based on a pressure of a fuel. The valve can be used with either a first fuel or a second fuel different from the first. The valve can become locked or be held in either the first or the second position. For example, a set fuel pressure can cause the valve to move to a closed position and the valve can become locked or held in that position. If the pressure decreases, the valve can remain in the locked position. Actuation of a reset switch can allow the valve to move to a new position, such as an open position.
