    Abstract: A wire containment cap includes a first side having a plurality of retainers for retaining wires, and a second side opposite the first side. Two sidewalls extend between the first side and the second side, and a support rib extends between the two sidewalls. The support rib includes two pair separators for separating wire pairs. In one embodiment, a plurality of sloped pair splitters is located between two of the retainers and includes a sharp point for cutting through insulation material on a pair of bonded wires. A communication jack assembly including a front portion and the wire containment cap is also described.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to various designs of shielded connectors, systems using such connectors, and methods of improving connector connectivity. For example, in one embodiment, the present invention is a communication plug having plug sides, the communication plug comprising a plug housing and a plug shield. The plug housing and the plug shield forming a seam on the plug sides, wherein the seam has an oblique angle relative to a vertical axis of the communication plug. This feature may aid plug removal from a jack by helping to prevent the snagging of a jack tab by a plug seam.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to the field of telecommunication, and more specifically to the connectivity components implemented therein. In an embodiment, the present invention is an RJ45-compatible network jack which includes a front sled PCB assembly incorporating short PICs, a compensation printed circuit board, and a spring loaded movement designed to provide a portion of the total displacement necessary to accommodate plug travel of a mated plug. The PICs are capable of displacement which is designed to be adequate to provide reliable contact while mating with a plug.
